Certainly here bus companies are allocated funds by journey length and you should always give the destination as you would when paying.

In my area the bus fare's a flat fare, you pay the same amount no matter how long your journey is.

There's usually a box to check if you want/need the companion card. Only available if you're in receipt of MRC/HRC. We asked about this as dd is getting HRM but needs help getting on buses. But as she only gets LRC ....

I don't think that's the case in all areas. The people I work with live in residential care so don't get the care component of DLA and I don't think any underlying entitlement has been established. They get lower rate mobility due to severe learning disability, cannot go anywhere unaccompanied and they have companion bus passes following confirmation of the disability from the GP.
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

Certainly is in this area though, filled in the form last week and asked about the +1 card, the lass pointed out the part, where she'd to check the box to say she was in receipt of MRC or above. So although she was entitled to the free buses, she wasn't allowed a carer with her. This would have been great for her in all honesty. Alas, she'll need to keep going out with her old mammy for now :)
