24hours a day but was caught under the new thing with your bus pass being scanned that he never used the care component on it so travelled every day into town himself and back again so they used that as the eveidence that he was lying and did not need 24 hour care
Not sure that would be enough evidence, I would imagine he must have put on his form that he never goes out alone, and/or that he is unable to use a bus. That evidence would then be enough.
Not sure what you mean about "never used the care component on it" - there does not have to be anything specific the care component is used on, he would not get the care component removed for not spending it on certain things.
I know what you mean though. It is outrageous genuine people are having to fight while others less genuine get away with it.“How people treat you becomes their karma; how you react becomes yours.”0 -
Its a strange situation. I was geared up ready to appeal my DLA decision, well before i'd heard back from them!!Just cos i'd heard it was dam hard to get. If i was lucky enough to get it i was expecting LRM/MRC, as the woman from CAB said thats what she thought i'd get. I was shocked to get what i did!!!
The decision makers dont seem to be singing from the same hymn sheet!!! I can walk 50 meters! Not in one go and i limp slightly. Then im in complete agony.
OP i think your hubby should defo be getting mobility!!! But im not the decision maker. Good luck xThe feeling i got when i confirmed my place studying criminology at Exeter Uni was brilliant!!!!!
The pride my children told me they had in me was even better!!!!! # setting positive example to children is OUTSTANDING!!!! !:grouphug::grouphug::smileyhea:smileyhea:smileyhea:smileyhea:smileyhea:smileyhea:smileyhea0 -
I'm liking the bit about the scanning of bus passes! When your life is a mess, stop and think what you are doing before bringing more kids into it, it's not fair on them.

Yeah I was wondering about this myself. There's no way to prove that when using the bus you're in a wheelchair, is there? Are they now making bus pass scanning records available to the DWP?
Yes they are available to the Council that issued the bus pass. That is how the bus company get their money.
The council then make the information available to the DWP within their 'anti fraud detection systems'.
Much the same as both Tesco Clubcard and Nectar data is used by most Government departments to establish spending habits (claiming to be single, but buying for two), tracking car fuel usage, when where, purchasing exceptional items (deprivation) and of course debtor tracing etc.0 -
I can only pass on some advice given to dad by the local authority welfare rights chappie.
It's fine having evidence but it is dangerous to send all of it in without checking it very carefully to ensure that it cannot be viewed or interpreted in a different way than what you expect.
It is far better to just send in one letter or report and keep eleven back. You don't want to give the DWP anything to sniff around at.0 -
Will the care componant bit of the bus pass not refer to him not using the companion element? If he's claiming he cannot go out alone for example, yet goes out every day and never used the companion element of his bus pass it'd be fair enough for the council/DLA to ask if he needed that element and if not, why not.0

What's the companion element? Totally confused here.0 -
I have a companion supplement on my bus ticket but I never use it even though I don't use the bus alone, reason being my sister has a zone card so we don't need a comp ticket.0

I've never heard of the companion element...my O/H is over 60 so has his own bus pass, and he accompanies me whenever I use the bus.0
