Yo Sushi - Super Sumo Sunday

Has anyone else had the displeasure of being ripped off by this 'deal'?

For those who don't know, it's £18.50 each to eat as much as you can off the Yo Sushi belt. However, when I went there was very little choice on the belt and what choice there was, was made up of the cheapest food on the menu (edamane beans anyone?!)

In fact, I complained to Yo Sushi via Facebook and their response was so unsatisfactory that I wrote an article about it:

http://sem-group.net/search-engine-optimization-blog/yo-sushi-%E2%80%93-don%E2%80%99t-yo-care-about-yo-customers/

Sorry if it's wrong to link to it, but I thought that anyone else disheartened by the 'Super Sumo Sunday' deal would be interested in reading it.

Anyone else feel like I do?

Wow, no need to be like that. Harsh.

I didn't want to cite my entire experience since I'd only be repeating my article.

But fyi I did ask but was met with a very rude response and felt obliged to keep shut.

So I should go back to the restaurant just so I can 'not let myself be bullied'?!

Would you say that to everyone who has ever received a poor meal? Or would you think it's actually up to the restaurant to put it right in the hope a previously loyal customer will return?

Honestly, you're making out as if the poor meal was all my fault!

i'm not making it out as your fault, but you should at least have some spine to stand up to them and get what you're paying for. how were they making you feel like a naughty child?

Well when I asked to make an order I was, in a very condescending tone corrected that it wasn't an order it was a 'request'. Something that I was aware of, but to say 'order' was simply habit.

The way I was spoken to was as if I was a naughty and ignorant child.

The second request was met with hassled looks as if I was asking them to bring me the moon on a plate. In addition, when the request was passed to the chefs they appeared to argue about it for a while.

I didn't feel after then as if I was able to request any more food.

Maybe I should have said something at the time, but I'm not very confident, especially when the staff are being so unpleasant.

At least I tried to complain afterwards but the whole charade has made it clear Yo Sushi simply don't care and just want to feed people the cheapest food possible on this deal.

I honestly thought that summed up every all you can eat offer going. They are hardly going to give away their most expensive stuff are they ? All you can eat is normally a way of getting shot of surplus stock that will go off if kept before a new delivery arrives.
Many moons ago I use to work in a pub that did all you can eat on Thursdays cos Friday, Sat and Sun were packed for food so the new delivery use to arrive first thing Friday morning and the walk in needed clearing out before then.
Most carvery meals are along the same lines..That is why you can help yourself to the veg but the meat is placed on your plate by a member of staff.
I can understand you being annoyed but I don't understand the point of all this after the fact. Most companies don't really care about their customers but still do fine so clearly this sort of complaint changes little to nothing..Look at all the things written about Subway or McD's and they are still going strong.
The key is complaining on the spot and not paying or asking for money back.
I visited a pub in Leicester that was just plain nasty, it was a punch one and the food was terrible, the service was shocking and it was filthy.
I complained at the time and refused to pay for my meal as I didn't eat it..I had one bite out of the steak and left the rest.
My husband paid for his meal as he finished the whole lot (piggy that he is) I also complained to head office as there was no manager in the pub at the time and the staff were less the useless but I would only do that if I complained at the time as well. I personally think it is important to complain in person to the people serving or the managers there as that way you know for sure it has been said rather then complaining to head office only where it might well go no further anyway and thus the problem never gets solved.

I go to 'all you can eat' places quite often, and I find the ones I go to are great. A massive selection of food, food cooked to order if you want and the meal priced at nowhere near £18.50.

In fact, I know of no other 'all you can eat' place that charges that sort of money.

£18.50 buys you a good selection of food if you visit Yo Sushi as normal.

It's certainly nowhere near a 'budget' meal out and the food should reflect that.

Though I agree now, I should have said something on the day.

But that doesn't mean I don't want to see Yo Sushi do something about this now, or at least warn other people away from being ripped off like I was.

I do totally agree with you about the price issue though as £18.50 is a lot more then any all you can eat place I have seen round here and for that amount of money I would expect something pretty good.
