Plusnet are now saying because I accepted the {four-month free} offer (having been told that it was the only one available), the other is invalid. They have now offered me half price broadband twice and twice retracted it!!
I feel really badly treated> Does nayone have any ideas?
Ahhh... If both parties have accepted an ammendment to the original contract so you now only have four-months free instead of (effectively) six, then I think you have given up your rights to the original offer as the new agreement supersedes it...
But given the problems you've had, I don't think I'll be moving to Plusnet. I wonder how many people have read your comments (it says "194 views" above) and how many customers that has lost Plusnet, and whether that's been worth the £12.98 that they're quibbling over.
Wouldn't it be really nice of them to just admit their mistake and honour it as any respectable company would?0 -
Come on Plusnet, you are better than this.
Some threads can be ramblings, customers being misled, misunderstandings, he said she said, we never really know who was at fault, and so on. This one is really clear-cut. Are you really going to argue over £12.98?0 -

I realise the agent did end up offering you the 12 months half price on the call, however he was in error in doing this - unfortunately in order to comply with the terms and conditions of the offer, you would need to take up our talk service as well as broadband.
As such I'm afraid we can't apply the half price for 12 months offer as per the discussions you've had with our support centre today. I'd be more than happy to apply the discounts if you do move your phone service to us, however as things stand I'm afraid I can't offer anything other than what has already been discussed.
I'm sorry for the confusion, and rest assured this has been dealt with internally.
Kind regards,
Matt Taylor

Shame on you Plusnet. I'd hurry up and remedy this if I were you before it goes viral ... think how many potential customers you're already losing ...0 -
I was thinking about signing up but think I'll wait to see if plusnet resolve this satisfactorily.0

Hi lisame,
Apologies for the above, and for the confusion. I've added the 50% discount for 12 months for you based on the offer being made and accepted on the call.
Our bad, very sorry about all that - hope that sorts things out for you.
Regards,
Matt Taylor

Thanks Matt and thanks everyone else for your help and input! I've not posted anything before and am not prone to making complaints, just thought this really wasn't on!
Anyway, Plusnet have solved the problem now.

Considering the amount this dispute was about is less than £13 it took a long time for Plusnet to honour their verbal contract as they should. That said a lot of the shysters that operate as ISPs these days would have continued denying their mistake for ever more.
Well done Plusnet for eventually doing the right thing.0 -
So it WAS possible to apply the agreed discount after all, eh?

So why the lies previously told?
Props for doing the right thing in the end.

That's great news, lisame. I had a funny feeling that they might come round to our way of thinking...
