But there is the extra child amount...that's probably what it is. Previously the OP probably only got the family element.

It all depends on your combined income as to whether your tax credits will increase for having 2 rather than 1 child. If it is more than £25 k there is no difference. I thought that our tax credits would go up when we had our second child and with me being on mat leave. They didn't change as our joint income still took us over the limit for any extras.0
