The reason the 'potential buyer' is asking for the phone number and sim serial number is because s/he is clearly trying to scam you. With both the phone number and sim serial number s/he could contact the network provider and report the sim card lost. If the sim card is not registered with your details and a security question then the scammer would then have an option to request a new sim card. Transfer the number, credit and services to an alternative sim card or transfer just the credit to an alternative sim.

If the sim is not registered with your details and security question then the network provider would just ask questions such as how much credit is on the phone and when did you last top up.

this is a message Ive just received , its not the same eBay id as the person i was communication with and when Ive put the name into eBays member finding page it says there's no such member !

    Hi
You may not realize this but if you got this with a new phone then you'll need to use the IMEI of the phone to load the credit - if you don't want to tell the buyer the IMEI you'll need to open the pack and load it on yourself

Another scammer? With the phone's IMEI number the scammer could report the phone lost and get it blocked or clone your phone.

the above message was from someone not bidding on the card the previous person asking for info had 0 feedback.this is the last message i recieved before i blocked them completely

hi what do you mean by balance transferred?i dont think that is possible.why are you making things up?it is impossible to transfer balance from one sim card to another.i dont even think orange can do that.please give me the sim card number that begins with 8944 or the mobile number.TRUST ME if anything goes wrong with the sim card you can take action against me.why should i ruin my reputation?i also gave you my mobile number didnt i which is fully registerd under my details on orange pay as you go.you dont have to be awkward.

Yes you can transfer from one sim to another.. i done it a few times when ive lost my phone.. all i had to do was
ring provider (both times was orange)
provide old sim number/phone number pass security q's
they then transfer credit and phone number to new sim (after giving them the new sim number)
