recorder to go with freesat built in tv

Hi we have a HD tv with built-in freesat, but have been using sky+ HD for a while now.

However I have just lost my job and we need to cut back and sky seems an obvious place to start. We would reallylike the convenience of plus style recording but the freesat in the tv does not have this feature.

What is the best way to achieve this without big expenditure? We don't have a free view aerial at the moment so would have to factor in that cost into the calculations.

A cheap DVD recorder?

Hi David, that's a good idea, though we were hoping we might be able to get something along the lines of a recorder which would behave in the way of sky + ie can record a whole series and store it, mainly because we tend to forget to record stuff!

Most of these recorders seem to be a free view or freesat box already, so wondered if you could get them cheaper with just the recording facility...

If not I guess we don't worry too much and just spend the money we save on boxsets for the ones we really find we want!

Hi Kurtis - this looks like it has freesat as part of it, but it is a good price isn,t it? and all those fab reviews... I'll have a chat to my husband tonight and see what he thinks. Def cheaper than sky!
