I wouldn't feed him anything tonight. I'd let him get it all out of his system, then all being well start on plain boiled rice tomorrow.
You do need to make sure he's drinking though as it would be easy for him to become dehydrated. And as doodle says, any concerns at all, contact your vet.

I would starve him at least tonight and probably in the morning also and wait and see, obviously keeping a close eye for any other signs of illness. Do not withhold water
    If no imporvement VETS asap.

Starvation doesn't tend to be recommended so much anymore, and I'd be careful with chicken and rice if he's not had it before. Whilst it's gentle on the tum, if it's a novel food then he may react to that. Just a small, easily digested meal, preferably something he's eaten before - even if it's just a few bits of plain cooked chicken, without the rice. I'd probably go to the vet if it's pure liquid rather than just soft poos, my Casper had a bug like this last Christmas and really wasn't himself (lots of vomiting too, infact I rushed him to the emergency vets as I feared bloat or a blockage) and it took him a good week to get over it properly. Dehydration is a worry so you could ask the vet for some rehydration fluids (or make your own with sugar and salt)

whoops he has had his dinner already!

His is completly fluid, but he has never had rice.
He had a wee small steak pie on saturday as his treat ater the kennals, but he has had pie before!

He is drinking plenty, which is always a good sign.

    Thanks for the comments.

Just be aware that in proper dehydration, water alone may not necessarily solve the issue. Rehydration isn't just about replacing the lost water but the electrolytes too - that's why rehydration solutions are a balance of sugars and salts. I think if you google "home rehydration recipe" then a few basic ones come up and pretty sure I've seen them OKed for use with animals but if in doubt, speak to your vet and they will advise. They'll probably have some sachets you can buy over the counter, but they may want to see him just incase.
Kennels are full of various dogs from various areas in small confined spaces with limited airflow so bugs can spread quickly, hopefully it's just something minor that a gentle diet and plenty of fluids will fix :)

My dog feeds on Winalot and mixer, he has never been a dry food dog.

I take him to http://www.glenauldboxers.com/ for his boarding they show Boxers, really georgous boxers, almost want one!!
He ha been fine before... i intend to have a late night, so want him out the back before i sleep.
He is eating fine, and apart from the poo, is his happy old self!

ok so just got up to go to the toilet, dog followed me, at this point, i kne what was about to happen but this was brown water, nothing close to solid :(

  • What type of dog is he?
I had a husky some years ago from a rescue centre who had a bad reaction to her jabs and sadly died, some breeds dont tolerate yearly boosters very well I am not saying its the same thing but worth checking with your vet.. in the case of my dog it was likely that she had already her shots sometime before ending up in a rescue kennels and as is the kennels policy they gave her shots before rehoming so her system was overloaded (something that can aparently happen slowly over time)
