First holiday abroad = where to go????

I can highly recommend the resort of La Pineda on the Costa Dorada. One of the best beaches I've seen - extremely clean and the sea is really shallow.
There's a brilliant water park at the resort and a kiddies park that's open in the evenings with things like a ball pit and trampolines. Port Aventura theme park is a short bus ride away.
On the two occasions that I've been, we've stayed at the Golden Donaire Park Hotel, which is right on the beach and very good, but there are apartments at the resort too. Most hotels let you hire fridges now, and there are always plenty of local shops selling cold drinks.0 -

If it helps at all, I have an apartment on the Mar Menor, Spain you can rent. (you would have to book your flights seperately). The apartment is set on a complex with swimming pools, gym, spa, jacuzzi and children's play area. The complex is 2 minutes walk to the beach.
PM if you are interested. Apologies if this is not what you are really looking for.0 -
I'd recommend Spain for a first holiday abroad. When I was a kid that was the first place that my parents took me and I loved it. It's ideal as there are loads of things to do and it's a short flight. I'd recommend staying somewhere like Salou (Costa Daurada) as there is a fab water park and Port Aventura theme park isn't that far away.0

When i was a child the first place my parents took me to was Brittany, France. We got the ferry and my dad drove, however as you are in Glasgow this would be a lot of travelling for your lo's, however you can get flights.
We stayed at a keycamp site, very family friendly with lots for the kids to do, have a look http://www.keycamp.co.uk/Best Wins of 2010 = Apple ipad & £100 Dejager vouchers:j:jJune Prizes = Kids Card game, Miners nail polish set,L'oreal million lashes mascara.0 -
Our best holiday ever was Thomson superfamily San Miguel Hotel in Ibiza, the private beach was gorgeous, the entertainment for kids and adults was superb as is the kids club.
We had only booked a week here but we asked the rep if we could pay to stay an extra week but there was nothing we could do, we just had to go home!
You think 'Ibiza, full of clubbers' but San Miguel is a small, quiet place for families, I want to go back right now!
Have a look on https://www.holidaysuncovered.co.uk for reviews of San Miguel and anywhere else you're thinking of.If you're going to stalk me, while you're at it can you cut the grass, feed the dog & make sure I've got bread & milk in
