which are a drop in the ocean compared to free care homes for the elderly...
Assuming you genuinely believe this, you need to get your facts straight.
What we do get help with is "personal care".....things like washing and dressing.
And only if we are assessed as really needing it.

You get better deal in Scotland because of the formula set up by Labour for monies to go to Scotland at the detriment of rest of England
No we get a better deal because our devolved parliament chooses to spend its money differently. For example in Scotland we now have free prescriptions, whereas in England they decided to reduce waiting times for hospital appointments.which are a drop in the ocean compared to free care homes for the elderly...
Pity it's not true though. Only personal care is free (if assessed as needing it) - care home accommodation costs still have to be paid for just as in England.0 -

Tins under your bed dont count as bank savings though do they.0 -
back onto subject, why should this matter? Quite a few building societies wont offer products if you arent in their area. Halifax seemingly dont supply to scotland. There is nothing in the rules that say they *must* provide to scotland. I wonder if they have (ever) provided to NI?0

So before Bank of Scotland merged with Halifax, how accesible were their savings accounts to English customers? Or Welsh customers?
Halifax customers cannot buy the Bank of Scotland Incentive Saver account without a trip over the border. It works both ways.
It's a branch based account you want. The branches are in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. Racist it isn't. Geography, it is.0 -

And Scots receive free university fees.
Not much sympathy for our Scottish neighbours, but the countryside and scenery is amazing.0 -
I think it is great that scottish students get free tuition. But it should be illegal for them to charge English students. They are members of the EU, just like european students who also get free tuition.
But I agree, this os geographical rather then racist.0 -

Why would they want a 2.5% account when Halifax offer a 2.8% one?0
