strange number on vodafone mobile

Hi, I got a free vodafone payg sim and put it in my unlocked phone today, now its all working fine etc but on the display it says "vodafone uk", then underneath this it says 01740, I just wondered what this is, thanks Lou

it's cell info, it shows which area you're in
some networks abroad use it to offer cheap calling rate in the home postcode area etc0
