PAYG vs contract
Okay, so mobile technology hasn't reach my part of the brain yet, so laymans language would be greatly appreciated.
Son has a virgin PAYG phone. He has an allowance of £10 per month, which he wants to 'up' with his own money to £15.
He's hankering after a contract phone and has been looking at the flext 20.
We are confused though. Why does it say £15 per month but £34 allowance. Surely it's either £15 or it isn't. If he uses more, does the £34 get carried over or something
What are the pros and cons of contract phones?
Is it a bad idea to let a 14 year old have a contract phone? I don't know...just something niggling me about it.
What happens if he uses more than he's paid? With PAYG he just runs out. Will he end up with a huge bill?
Do you know of anything else that might suit his needs better. He uses text the most, but needs real live phone calls too
(I'm sure there's a fandagled word for that!)
Any advice greatly appreciated

As far as I know the flext allowance doesn't roll over
you pay a set fee and they give you a certain allowance to spend, extra credit basically.
Personally I wouldn't give a 14 year old a contract phone.
If your son goes over his allowance then the account holder and not your son would be responsible for paying the bill.
There are a lot of deals now for payg customers
depends how many calls and texts are made
both o2 and Orange give free texts for a certain top up each month0
