I've seen it, and cried buckets too! It's a fabulous film, I do like the films based on true stories, and they did a good job with this one0

I've been to Shibuya station in Tokyo (where the real Hachiko used to wait for his owner) and seen the bronze statue of him. It still makes me fill up thinking about him or whenever I explain the story to someone when we're looking at the photos. For that reason, I've never watched the film!0

Yes I watched this a few months back one afternoon, when on my own. Glad I was, if I'd have watched it with DH or DD Id have had to turn it off. I've never cried so much watching any other film. It was so unbelievably heart wrenching. To think a dog could be so dedicated to his owner. Im not sure I could even watch it again as I know I would cry buckets again.0

Yeah I caught this a few weeks ago with the OH and we were both in tears..0

I went to see this in the cinema with my mum, son and daughter when it came out. I know it's a true story but the only tears we had were of boredom. My daughter said when we come out, 'well, that wasn't depressing at all!' It was just so dark, and mostly consisted of the dog walking to and from the train station.0

My brother in law, in his wisdom thought that this would be the perfect film for my 10 year old animal lover daughter to watch. It was awful - both of us cried and cried - I kept saying to her "can i turn it off please?" but no, she had to keep watching it. My OH wouldnt come in the room as he couldnt watch it.
Dogs could teach humans a lot about loyalty, that's all I can say really. But god, it was so hard to watch.Smoke Free since 1 January 20130 -
Oh my god I just cried reading the wikipedia page, I think I'd better leave the film alone!0

Me and hubby went to Edinburgh recently and we said hi to Greyfriars Bobby's statue that sits in the park. His story is heartbreaking too.
You can read about him on Wikipedia too. What matters most is how well you walk through the fire0 -

Sorry but Greyfriars Bobby has been proved a fake. Seems the Church warden trained a few different strays to sit by the grave. It was a money making scheme for the church.
Akita(sp) are very loyal to their owners.0 -

Sorry but you've got that a wee bit wrong, Bobby did exist but after he died other dogs were encouraged to go to the cemetery according to my oh who is a very knowledgeable tour guide.0
