Missy.. get 2 of those green scrubby things you do pans with..spray water/bleach/flash/whatever you use on the worst parts of the floor leave to soak for 5 minutes.. swish over with the mop and throw scrubby on the floo and rub it with your foot.. no bending involved and doesnt kill the floor!

ooh thanks pigpen!!! have plenty of green scrubby things! Will definitely give that a go... might be later though lol.

bargainhunteress, thanks hun, I'm nesting apparantly!!!:rotfl:

Question, we've got sticky stuff on our glass doors from stickers that were removed about 2 years ago :oand the sticky stuff is really annoying me, but i've just tried to get it off with a soft acourer and fairy liquid and it just sort of goes over it, it doesn't even touch it..... anyone got any ideas?

Have had a lovely time sorting through some baby clothes my friend gave me, and have dusted the bedroom too, oh and put on a pink wash.

Can anyone recommend anything to clean a very grubby cream leather sofa without damaging it please? It's too dirty for leather wipes/spray now. Baby wipes are good at getting the grot off but damage the leather - any ideas?

    -

I would have suggested baby wipes - Ive used them on mine for years and its always been fine... but I feed mine and treat it occasionally so maybe that helps, I dunno.... :o

Anyway, Some sites suggest gentle liquid hand soap on a cloth with a tiny amount of water. Rub it gently into the leather and then rinse away with a clean damp cloth. Finally dry with another cloth, making sure all traces of soap are removed.

Someone posted this Kim and Aggie tip on another website....

" just got this tip for you from Aggie and Kim (How clean is your house),
To keep your leather couches looking nice, mix one cup of salt water (you can make this with one 3/4 cup tap water and 1/4 cup sea salt), two tablespoons of baking soda, and one teaspoon of flour in a large bowl.
Dip wet rag into the mixture and wipe down the couches. Then dry with a dry rag. It will brighten and clean even the dirtiest leather couches.
    Hope it works."

I dont know if it works, but if youve tried eveyrthing else it might be worth a go.

    Jo xx

Thanks Jo, hand soap is a good idea, I guess it's gentler than washing up liquid and has moisturisers in so that would help. It was given to us a week or so ago and was filthy, and when I attacked one arm with a baby wipe it started cracking :eep: Once it's clean I'll treat it to a back rub or something :D

Well my day hasn't gone as planned :(
I WAS flying in the kitchen, then I thought I'd phone my mum to find out if she had enough of DD2's meds for when she says. She didn't so I nipped round with some and a bag of salad that we didn't like.
That's where everything went wrong
    1. The new front door key I got cut for my parents house after XH stole mine wouldn't fit the lock.
    2. My dad broke the tv control about a week ago after having a tantrum (he has them cos of the brain damage) so I got them an universal one from argos. But mum tells me the volume up button doesn't work.
    3. Mum needs buttons for a baby cardy she's made me for a nappy cake I'm making.
So you guessed it I spent the rest of the day running around!
Back to the key cutter, to the haberdashery shop for buttons, Tesco for petrol and food colouring, hobbycraft for food colouring paste, Argos to change the controller. Now I'm home, the boyfriendish phoned he needs a sumthin' another cable  can't get one his end so can I get one and bring it up when I come.
    Of course :A
Now I have to leave to pick DD1 up from school to drive to my sister's VIA bl**dy Comet :(
DD2 is going to my parents for the night so needs to come home first to pick up buttons and controller.

    What was I doing today?? . . . .mmm . . . . . . . I remember STUDYING!!!

I will try again tomorrow :(

Can't talk to Mr LW about this, and I need to tell someone, as it's kinda bugging me. Nothing earth-shattering, but....

I had a weird, weird dream last night.... I was pregnant! Planned pregnant!!:eek:And bricking it because delivery-day was imminent.:eek::eek: Now, I'm ter-twiddly-umpty-one years old, never been pregnant in my life, and have never, ever had any desire whatsoever to have a baby. What's going on?? I've had some very disturbing and upsetting dreams of late, but for sheer no-this-cannot-be-happening-ness, this rates pretty close to taking not just the biscuit, but the entire packet plus the contents of the cake tin as well!:(

Flying-wise..... well, Meg decluttered all her breakfast without prompting, which is good going for her, and I'm just about to give the Lounge Dragons a once-over with the duster - I shall be dusting round the very big ones this week, as my left shoulder is giving me hell, and even on a good day I need both hands to lift them.;)

Oh, I also had an email from the dog-sitting agent, asking if I can keep Meg an extra day, so she's staying til Sunday now.:T
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)
