Quite exciting getting all the groceries - like Christmas discovering what's in each bundle!! No dragging the shopping home!!
Am impressed as I got everything that I ordered and only one substitute (Bacon unsmoked replaced by smoked)
Products were well chilled where necessary and things well packed.
Freshness was good (fruit n veg) and v.good (meat)
Driver was very pleasant and lifted each box for me to unpack and well within time.
Few bargains Whiskas catfood, Original Source Foam Bath, Meat offer. 3 for 2 on preserves inc. value. Overall saved £30 after del cost on £80 order.

I've only one major supermarket in my town (Sainsbury's,) and am considering shopping online, probably Tesco and it's more for the bulky and heavy items as I don't drive.
I appreciate that the first order can take a lot of time to set up but can readers offer any advice, hints, tips etc making this type of shopping successful?
What do you reckon the minimum spend to make this a paying proposition?0 -
Well, Asda at the moment have £5 off a £40 spend in the guise of a voucher a couple of days after your online order if you also do the Asda Price Guarantee check online, again 2 days after your online order - plus you may get another voucher if your online shopping isn't cheaper, so it offsets the delivery charge (and any petrol if you normally drive to the supermarket)
Tesco's often have first order voucher codes and don't forget Quidco, Top Cashback etc to save again.
I personally got a load of heavy items and essential items which saved me carrying after an operation, but also would help me anytime to be honest. I can carry quite alot, but it's usually the bulk rather than the weight.
Online shopping also stops me impulse buying (not the spray) and being tempted by instore offers, so i've noticed i've saved that way too

used them today and the driver refused to bring the shopping up one flight, was moaning to my neighbour before I opened the door *which I found very unprofessional( as he said my shopping was too heavy and he was putting my address on a blocked list in cardiff why I haven't a clue..
took half an hour of talking to his manager to get him to bring it upstairs with the help of my neighbour and teenage daughter, I have a bad back which is why I like to order cat food and cat litter and pay for delivery, anyway it seems the more you spend the worse treatment you get as I spent £130 this week and usually only spend £60.
I upset about and don't think I will use tesco again, the manager said be nice to the driver as he is having a bad day and has a bad back
if he has a bad back then he really should think of other career options within tesco , rather than throw his toys out of the pram and refuse to deliver to an address that gets a delivery every week without problems, it is a first floor flat so and not that many stairs either, he was saying the block has no ramp etchow many flats do?
I did suggest he take the cat litter back with him if he but he said all or nothing and he was taking the shopping back
I have got the shopping now but not sure how defrosted the stuff got with him talking on the phone for half an hour with all my shopping on the ground and not in the truck.0 -

I don't know if this is indicative of anything, but my Tesco driver is quite abrupt, bordering on rude too. By contrast, every ASDA driver I've ever had come to my house has been nothing but lovely and helpful. ASDA must have better training and a more positive work environment or something.0 -
I had a delivery from Tesco last week and asked the driver how many people assisted with the delivery(as I always do, whereas my younger neighbours do not) he told me less than a THIRD his nexzt delivery was up our flights of stairs and he thanked me for my help and the fact that he was 20 minutes early with I had no issue with!
Maybe I`m lucky my drivers seem quite happy go lucky but the store staff are miserable !!!!!!s:mad:0
