Tesco Home Delivery

Thanks everyone for all the advice and hints/tips on what to look out for.
I worked out how to order and have a delivery slot for tomorrow (Tesco).
I'll be back to let you know how it all goes!0 -
Well it arrived and went smoothly. The only difference between the order I placed and the one I received was two cucumbers instead of one
Do I need let Tesco know?0 -
I've just had an Asda delivery and was just as impressed with them. A couple of substitutes which aren't the end of the world.
Now all I have to do is work out this price guarantee lark0 -
LOL Miroslav - I've just had an Asda one this week too! (thought I'd try both).
I did prefer the Tesco one .... I know this may be a bit of a bone of contension for some people but the Tesco order came in bags so that the guy brought the crate to the front door and then handed me the bags in.
The Asda stuff was just loose in the crate - I could only take 1 / 2 items at once and it took ages to ferry it all into the house (not helped as I can only walk on one foot).
Whilst I appreciate they want to cut down on using carrier bags - surely some sort of "bag for life" could be used that you could carry in and empty.
It was dark and cold ... the front door was open / closed numerous times (it was a fairly big order) and the house was FREEZING by the time I'd finished ...... goodness knows what it'd be like in the middle of winter:eek:Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)
2016 Sell: £125/£250
£1,000 Emergency Fund Challenge #78 £3.96 / £1,000Vet Fund: £410.93 / £1,000
Debt free & determined to stay that way!0 -
I had a home delivery this week from Tesco. I live in Wales and have to pay 5p for a single use carrier bag in a shop. But I thought it would be a real hassle moving everything individually from the crate to the kitchen so ticked the option to have carrier bags and didn't get charged for any. I thought I'd be charged for them so I don't know if it's for a limited time or if Tesco are being nice !?0

A lot depends on where you live. I'm in central London and experiencing a very inconsistent Tesco service, possibly down to them overstretching resources. I will say that my order with Ocada was excellent and whilst drivers from both companies have been good, the Ocada driver somehow reflected the level of service that is common in Waitrose.0

I slightly prefered the Asda delivery, but both were good.
Asda provided bags for most of it, although a couple of items were just in the crate and the driver said he had no idea what that was about? Some bags only had the a couple of items in, so Asda themselves were being wasteful.
On a side note...
Sorry Tesco are cheapest this time. Your comparable grocery shopping is £10 cheaper at Tesco. ASDA are not 10% cheaper than Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Morrisons and Waitrose. As such you are entitled to a voucher for £7.07.
You’ve spent £40 or more and are therefore entitled to a £5 Off £40 bonus off your next £40 shop that you can claim below.:)

Thought I'd try my first online Tesco Grocery shop. £10 off with code for first order.
Website playing up with page not found in the beginning and then page displays became odd !! Managed to complete an order in the end but took around 3hrs and had to rejig slot to keep.
It reserves £2 on your card @ the checkout stage.
I didn't order anything frozen as all that picking, packing, loading, hanging around, delivery, unloading I'd think if it would be still frozen.
Cust Serv 1st time said it was my computer and 2nd time admitted it was their website - gave me £10 e-vouch for hassle!
See what happens now!! (1) Delivery on time ? (2) Get what ordered ? (3) What substitutes?? (4) Final bill ? (5) Dates / freshness ?

I hope it all works out for you and you haven't totally been put off.
If Tesco don't work out, other supermarkets are available (plus things like Quidco for trying them out!)0 -

I've never ordered from tesco, but have from waitrose, ocado, asda and sainsburys and my frozen stuff has still all been frozen when delivered, in fact definitely more frozen than if I was to go to the supermarket myself (time wasted in the queue, packing the car, driving home etc)0
