    Money

PAD/Spends - £90 thanks to money being left over from our holiday :A
    Entertainment - £0.62
    Groceries - £44.57
    2nd purse - £20.67
    Loan balance - £2964.06
    Savings - £2000.00
    Actual balance - £964.06

There are 11 days until payday, which should also be Bonus Day. We're still waiting for final confirmation on that though.

Today I'm off to the Mahoosive Craft Show in Glasgow, which I'm very much looking forward to. I have £200 to spend from my VSP savings, and anything I don't spend (!!) will be put into my car loan.

I didn't buy a Mulberry bag while I was away, as they didn't have them in the colours I was looking for, so my tax rebate remains in a bank account and I may even be able to clear the car loan sooner than I think. My ISA is now getting rubbish interest, so I paid £800ish into the loan the other day just for the boost of seeing the amount outstanding go under £3000 :rotfl:
  • Bloody hell Fresian, you are awesome!!!! You'll have that loan paid off in no time. Are you using the savings to eventually pay off the loan?

The savings will be used to pay the loan off in a lump sum sometime this year. Not bad for having taken out a £5,000 loan in July last year ;)

Of course, the Law Of Sod will dictate that once the savings are gone the washing machine, cooker and roof will explode, but I'll deal with that as it comes :D

Its always really good bringing spending money back home with you isn't it? :T

Shame you couldn't find the Dream Bag but will be fab to pay off the loan this year like you say - after this the mortgage won't stand a chance :)

DFW - I'm in the middle of updating my blog with everything I bought today :D

I came back with change too (admittedly from a very generous budget!) and would have bought more if I hadn't left my list of Promarker colours at home :( I might see if there are any good deals on them online at the moment before I commit the change into the loan :D

    Money

    PAD/Spends - £70
    Entertainment - £0.62
    Groceries - £35.18
    2nd purse - £16.17
    Loan balance - £2934.06
    Savings - £2000.00
    Actual balance - £934.06

I came back from the crafty show with change *faint* That being said, there were a few things I wanted to buy that I didn't find there, so I used my crafty funds to buy them online instead. I've also used the assumed bonus I'm getting (should know how much sometime next week) to take out an annual cardmaking magazine subscription which comes with some lovely free pens (over £30 worth) and cost me £48.99 for the year, which covers 13 issues that are normally £4.99 each. If anything goes Pete Tong with my bonus, I can PAD towards the cost of the subscription and clear it next month anyway.

The Second Purse system seems to be working well for me in terms of reducing my weekly spends. There's 9 days until payday and I'm hoping to keep my spending to around £20 until then. We should only need fruit, milk and veg really. I have a good storecupboard now which is filled with 2nd purse bargains, and it's good to know that I have the small stash of money there when I see a good bargain (I have eight bottles of mouthwash for example because I saw them half price.) Anything that's left from the grocery purse on payday will be put into the second purse for future bargains.

I've also put away at least £30 of £2 coins into my terramundi in the last couple of weeks, so that's building up. I must have at least £50 in there since the last time I poked the money out with a butter knife :o

I have been lax on the NSDs since I came back from holiday though thanks to online shopping and general naughtiness, so I'll need to get back on that wagon ASAP if I want to hit my target. I think I'll be lucky this month!

Hope everyone has had a nice weekend. I've been locked in my craftyroom for most of the weekend so there are loads of cards on my blog if anyone wants a look :)

Not today though. Today I will splort my money on crafty gubbins.

Yesterday ended up being spendy too as I was working in an office without a microwave so bought lunch as I couldn't heat my soup. And chocolate, lots of chocolate. Found out yesterday that the part of my company I work in is reducing the number of jobs by half, so we have a process to go through where we have to apply for jobs in the new structure and see how we get on.

There is a good chance that I will lose my current job by the end fo the summer. All efforts now will be on paying off my loan and building up savings. I do get a good redundancy payment, but with the jobs market the way it is I can't rely on getting back into a job on the same salary so budgeteering will be the word of the day.
