Afternoon guys - hop eyou're all having a lovely Sunday
I got up at 11.35 am and had to rush to get dressed and get down to see Mam for her lunch - difficult for my brother to get there with Sunday bus times - but got there just in timeMam had been a bit shouty in the morning but not too bad, and ate her dinner and pudding no problems with me feeding her, and then she dozed off to sleep so I just watched the telly. Her meds came 3/4 hour later and we woke her for them. She was smiling and calm as she woke, took her medicine and fell asleep again on her nebuliser. She woke momentarily as I took the nebuliser mask off her, but straight back to sleep. I stayed for 10 minutes to check she was settled and then went to leave, which woke her up, but she seemed happy enough when I said I was just going to the shops and would be back later, and I am sure that she would just fall asleep again after I left
So, I called at Mr T for my Mail on Sun and some white choc buttons for Mam, and went home to have my breakfast
The boys are over visiting Kit today, so I am sure that they are all having fun, especially as Kit's Mum and Dad are staying there at the moment with her :j :jMr 3Dogs 3-7-12

Mam had been shouting again this afternoon but Carer B had sat with her
she was settled when I was there though it took a long time for me to feed her the mash/gravy and then mousse dessert, as she was choking badly on her juice
She had her meds and nebuliser and I told nurse about how she was choking, but she once again seemed settled when I left, but who knows what she was like after I left. Nurse said that she'd given Mam a tablet in the afternoon when she was distressed, but Mam was still fighting it
anyway, straight home at 6 pm, got changed and got dinner on cooking now - salmon fillet with carrot/swede mash - so looking forward to thatMr 3Dogs 3-7-12

Phew! been another manic day again.
Sorry you mum is not having so many good days lately. Carer B seems to be very dedicated to the job as they seem to be able to know just how to calm your mum down. Unlike some, Carer B is a credit to the profession.Never Knowingly Understood.

Hiya Patman - yes, Carer B is the only carer there who we absolutely trust - she says she loves Mam, as she has lots of character, though they all say they love her smile
And there's only 2 'good' nurses and even then ....... well, lets just say we only trust Carer B
It is such a shame to see how people in that profession act - I think most go into caring as they really do want to care properly for people, but 'the system' and the actions of their peers soon make them rather lax in their care
