BT - Awful Experience for a brand new customer!

Hi

Having experienced some truly awful customer service from SKY (after enquiring for over a year why we had no ITV1 and Sky1 reception for that time and getting nowhere), we decided enough was enough and switched to BT Vision.

So far, MASSIVE MISTAKE - they have delivered two set-up packages for some reason, even after we told them we'd already received the first one (BT Vision box/HUB etc), one to the wrong address, put back the activation date 3 times and now can't get the Broadband to work.

The customer service is truly awful, they don't call back when they say they will, fail to keep promises they make in terms of when the service will be available and have basically strung us along.

When we signed up, we made what I am now seeing as another mistake of paying the line rental of £120 up front as it was cheaper in the long run. So they have our money and now clearly couldn't care less if we've got the services we're paying for. The BT Vision (TV service) isn't due to start until Monday (17th) - I dread to think how they'll mess that up.

We're going to tell them tomorrow (when they re-open their phone lines - we were told they're open till 8pm tonight...they closed at 6!) that they sort it by the end of tomorrow or we cancel and demand our year's line rental payment back.

Has anyone else had this sort of problem with BT? And if so, does anyone have any tips, advice? Did it improve at all?

Is it just me or has the notion of customer service gone completely out of the window these days?

Thanks guys

Good luck with canceling BTV-a complete waste of space, as numerous posts on here confirm. Basically Freeview with some on-demand content.
However, BT will almost certainly tell you that you will not be able to cancel your line rental, as this forms a separate contract from BTV.

    Hi Duvaljones,

Sorry to hear you have had a bit a tough time from you returned to BT. I would like to take a look at your account to see what has gone wrong. Please could you send me in your details using the link found in my profile?

    Thanks
