  • Drinks are absolutely extortionate, no exaggeration at all. I think you were misinformed about £3 per pint.

Wasn't there a problem regarding MM that was highlighted recently on either the Ferret or X-ray, something regarding them changing the dates and not refunding deposits when people cancelled because it wasn't convienient for them.
  • We used to be a member at the gym a few years ago, and also loked at there for a civil ceremony. We chose in the end a smaller venue, the things that put me off with a lot of places is that you could go there for a meal and pay a fair price for a great meal, but make it a wedding and it double in price with no choice of food.
Personally I would look at your favourite places to eat, and see if they offer a service, we finally picked a venue in carmarthenshire, where our guests had the option to select from their entire menu, in advance. We were only a small party mid thirties so taking over a small family hotel worked for us and kept in intimate and friendly.

    Good luck
    I had a plan..........its here somewhere.
  • I use to work at MM and I think it is a stunning place to get married!!

I proberbly wouldnt get married there myself, but that is only because I use to work there!

The food there is also amazing!!!

The best place to go for reviews are tripadvisor.com

Finally abit of positivity bou Miskin Manor..hehe yeah i checked the prices again with the Hotel and they showed us the bar prices.. £3.50 a pint..
thinking of seeing if we could possibly put £200 behind the bar so they could possibly take 50p of the first 400pints.. umm i wonder!!

hi my brother got married there in may last year and it was a fantastic day. The staff were excellent, very attentive and the wedding co-ordinator helped the best man overcome his nerves for his speech, lol. She was very nice.
The grounds were stunning, loads of fantastic photo opportunities. The food was amazing, could not fault it.
There was a room with a big open fire and another room with an old style library, it was very grand.
The wedding suite was big with a four poster bed and looked over the grounds.
yes the drinks are pricey but you will find this wherever you go for a wedding.
If you would like me to send you some photo's of the wedding pm me your email address
You really have made a good choice!

We got married there nearly 3 years ago and although before hand I moaned constantly about the price of the food and drinks, I have to admit the place was absolutely outstanding.

The wedding co-ordinator was a big help and they were very accomadating in terms of the menu.

The grounds are brilliant for photos.

Our friends also got married there last year, and by the 5th pint you forget you are paying £3.50 a pint.

Alternatively buy a crate of beer and hide it in your room and drink these in between. Thats what our tight fisted friends did!

One piece of advice tho, book early as it seems to get booked up very quickly.
