Thanks both. Have been up north again this week hence been off line a lot. Good week - not the best in MSE terms as "camping" again but good stuff done at work and house now up for rent as well as sale. Hoping for a tenant in the new year. Will see.

Anyway off to wrap up in my duvet on the airbed and save on heating!!

Home again but stricken by a blinding headache for the past 24 hours. Thought was feeling better but don't think the computer is helping. Back to the duvet. :(

That sounds *bad*, and you're right, the computer never helps in that situation ... back to the duvet for you. :kisses3:

Hi all - and :santa2: taxi - good to see you here too! :)

Feeling better now but it took quite a few days so now playing catch up again. But things going well on the earning front. OH got paid for extra work this month and I have some dog training money to come in - plus we got a payment for some of our rent since our move from relocation fund so in all by the end of the month we should be able to add... wait for it .... £4200 to the plan C fund (mostly from relocation)! :j:j:j So that will give us over £7.5K in there - more than half way there with 5 months to go! :T:T

Still no progress on the rental side - and am feeling less and less convinced by it to be honest. But we'll see if anyone comes along. After all the sales market seems to have come to a shuddering halt!

Haven't had much time on here of late - just trying to get things done. Hope everyone is doing well. Will try to catch up a bit over the weekend. Have a good one.

    Hi Chev

Because we had to relocate for OH's job we have both rent and mortgage on the go at the moment. The house is on the market (has been since April) and was sold but sale fell through. Everything very quiet now. My job comes to an end in May next year at which point we can't afford mortgage and rent. I will be doing full time self employed stuff (dog training and other things). So Plan A is to sell house. Plan B is for me to earn sufficient new income to cover the mortgage. The Plan C fund is to cover the mortgage (or any shortfall) if we 1. don't sell the house in the next 6 months and 2. if I don't make enough money to cover it after my job finishes in May next year.

Hope that makes sense. The aim is to have enough to pay the mortgage for at least 6 months but really as big a buffer as we can save.
