Fireworks go on sale 15th October and 10th November except at licenced premises. I suspect part of the reason you may find it appears to go on longer/earlier is that they are alos sold for Divali which is 26th October this year (I think) so some mistakenly think fireworks going off well before the 5th is a nuisance but there is that possibility. That and of course it's perfectly legal to set off fireworks every day of the year as long as it's between 7am and 11pm. It might seem like forever but it is in fact quite a short window and fireworks get reduced in NEC every year, storage regs get harder and harder to abide by for a lot, transport of a lot of the bigger items classified as 1.3g is now almost impossible unless being bought by the case so in all fairness there is plenty of regulation and control there now.
I can see where you and other dog/animal owners are coming from but society is about give/take I set off a fair few fireworks around the 5th, others have parties in the summer evenings, others light bonfires during the day on hot sunny days when i'm trying to get my washing dried for free etc
Hope your animals get through the season ok
im going for this offer tomorrow i think! thanks OP
i don't have animals and i will be buying fire works (low noise as i have a little one) Prices don't need to go up as normal responsible people wouldn't be able to afford just a few fountains for their kiddies (displays are too loud and on too late for my 15 month old) They need to regulate sales properly i have already had three young teens approach me and offer me £5 to buy them fireworks this year (i declined). I started buying a few fireworks for me, my family and friends when i turned 18 we set them off properly in a small display on a playing field and collected our mess but i have never once been asked for ID despite signs being plastered everywhere saying challenge 25. its scary that adults buy fireworks for people who are clearly using them to create mischief! x0 -
