I really don't like fireworks (and neither do my pets), and hate this time of year as it seems to go on forever :o

Fireworks go on sale 15th October and 10th November except at licenced premises. I suspect part of the reason you may find it appears to go on longer/earlier is that they are alos sold for Divali which is 26th October this year (I think) so some mistakenly think fireworks going off well before the 5th is a nuisance but there is that possibility. That and of course it's perfectly legal to set off fireworks every day of the year as long as it's between 7am and 11pm. It might seem like forever but it is in fact quite a short window and fireworks get reduced in NEC every year, storage regs get harder and harder to abide by for a lot, transport of a lot of the bigger items classified as 1.3g is now almost impossible unless being bought by the case so in all fairness there is plenty of regulation and control there now.

I can see where you and other dog/animal owners are coming from but society is about give/take I set off a fair few fireworks around the 5th, others have parties in the summer evenings, others light bonfires during the day on hot sunny days when i'm trying to get my washing dried for free etc

Hope your animals get through the season ok

Be warned voucher states cannot be used with any other offer, so not clear if you would get bogof. Anyone tried it?

Have just been to our local Sainsbury's and bought 4 lots of fireworks with 4 vouchers. As long as they are seperate transactions, you will receive the free fireworks and they are Standard ones, so are of good quality. The BOGOF does work with this offer.

Ugh, wish they wouldn't encourage the sale of these things. They should triple the price IMO and stop making them so easy to come by (by chavs)

    InstaGC -£73
    Nielsen Mobile - £70

I bought the £20 pack, got another £20 pack free and the £30 pack free with the voucher. We buy the garden ones for our kids, got some on the same deal last year and they were good.

    Thanks OP.

    Managed to get:

Jade Selection Box (18 Mixed Effect Fireworks)
    Emerald Cake (10-Shot)
    Pyro Pack (£30 Value)
    All For £20

    I also picked up
    Moonstone Burst Rockets (4-Pack)
    Giant Glitter Sparklers (8 Packs)
    Pyro Pack (£30 Value)
    All For £16

Not so sure about the £30 value of the 'Free' packs, but seem to have got a lot noise for £36.:)

    Thanks again OP.

I'd be more than happy to see seasonal sales stopped and only "proper" fireworks suppliers allowed to sell. How many supermarket staff advise the customers that they need 25m all around the firework when buying Cat3 fireworks? The staff I asked last year didn't know the distance regs or know what cat1, cat, cat3 and cat4 is I know they're shop staff but if they're on the counter selling them...

I have to agree. How many more entirely avoidable accidents this year resulting in an eye lost, permanent scars, some deaths?

It is very irresponsible for the OP to promote the sale of fireworks in this way, many will end up being bought and used by kids.

Anyone know if the voucher is likely to be in the paper again?
