Apart from you can't push £20 notes into online banking and deposit them!

You can put them in an ATM though and then move them online.

I've only ever come across Santander that let you deposit at the ATM outside branch, HSBC used to be good when you could get in out of hours and pay in.

natwest and halifax let you deposit also in cash points.
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.

You can still do that at some branches. The one I use, you can get a proper A4 sized statement, deposit cash or cheques, or just withdraw cash, 24/7.

My main frustration with this account so far is having to use the post office to deposit cash, which usually involves a 20 minute queue in my town.

This might help (and also explain why they're looking to increase their customer base):

Co-op named as preferred Lloyds branch buyer

This is excellent news! I think all Lloyds TSB branches in Scotland are included in the deal - so if it goes through the Co-Op will go from having only 4 branches in the country to having hundreds.

Let's hope this spurs on an investment in the online banking, I can't imagine all those Lloyds customers would be happy moving from their nice shiny system to the Co-Op's in its current state :o

I arranged for 2 standing orders to be transferred from Nationwide for 1p and 2p respectively going to my Santander account. I set them up for different days and they still have not been transferred 4 weeks later.

well the COOP Bank is staffed by no-nonsense northerners

They may have used old fashioned common sense and decided the standing orders weren't sensible

(couldn't you set up the standing orders yourself and say the COOP bank did it ? )

I doubt that they can verify whether you are a Stoke City fan and it doesn't mention that you need to be season ticket holder

There appears to be an online application form - so you don't need to visit a branch near Stoke on Trent wearing Stoke City football kit to apply for the account

none of the football savings accounts or credit cards require proof of team support either
