Selling a greenhouse

We have 2 x Alton cedarwood greenhouses 8 x 10 feet, one of which was starting to drop on one side due to the foundation being undermined, so we have dismantled this one, cleaned it up and renovated it.

It is not "as new", being 15 years old, but too good just to give away on Freecycle.
Where would we be best to try to sell it, and how do we decide what a reasonable price might be?

Any advice appreciated!

We occasionally sell bits on Gumtree. There is also Loot online, you could give them a do and see what similar ones are being listed for.

If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.

It's only worth what someone will pay remember... I would suggest going in at £150 or so.
  • Yep - try eBay on a free listings day, with 'collection' only as delivery option. It's surprising how far genuine buyers will travel to pick up something they really want. As to price, an item is only worth what someone is prepared to pay (without wanting to sound harsh) so start your auction at the lowest amount you'd accept for the greenhouse, purely as an example, say £100. If you have no nibbles at all on eBay, then try your local paper or local shop at your new 'desired amount, O.N.O.' and see what happens.

They are very good greenhouses Alton though, being hardwood they will last for years (I have one and think it's great). I would put it on Ebay and see what you get - so long as it is complete and well-described in the listing, I would have thought you'd get a good price for it.

There'sone runnning on Ebay at the moment which is up to £104 already - and it has rather a lot of glass panes missing. See it here:

Got to be worth a try!

Oooh, that one is exactly like ours, but ours is complete with all the glass.

i had been hoping for rather more than £100 as they were quite expensive, but I suppose the market is limited, and second hand stuff does not seem to fetch much. A brand new one seems to be in the region of £2000!!!

There are only 26/28 bits of glass, so 10 missing is quite a lot, and expensive to replace as they are all toughened glass.
