What do you do with vouchers after you've scanned them at the self-service tills?0

....FAIL!
Shopped tonight, spent £26 and apparently my shopping was cheaper then Asda or Tesco by £4.35. I thought I had it!lostinlost2 wrote: »I was searching through the Asda website and noticed that the
Dolmio Bolognese Sauce - Extra Spicy (750g) is only £1 in asda and £3.34!!:eek: in Sainsburys :T
buy 6 for £20.04
and get £14.04 voucher back
anyone found any other good finds?
Dolmio Bolognese Extra Spicy 750gm has now gone up to £1.90 in Asda0 -
S may be nearer saving petrol money
hth
Also Asda does not have a loyalty card. In Sainsburys I get double nectar points because I have a Nectar Amex card and pet insurance so its 4 nectar points per £1. Plus odd weeks you can get till spits for conditional spends, MOCs or bonus points offers.
Ok there will never be enough nectar points for a cruise (but there again thats just about impossible with Tesco clubcard as well now) But I always have a good point balance anyway for small treats“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. Every day will allow you, --will invite you to add something to the pleasure of others, --or to diminish something of their pains.”0 -
I think it goes without saying that if you're spending more than £40 you should probably split your shopping up. Ideally into a pile that's cheaper at ASDA, a pile that's cheaper in Tesco's and a pile that's cheaper in Sainsburys. The non-branded stuff can be used to pad each pile out
The easiest way to do this is to use the split list feature at mysupermarket. Something that I've been cursing them for not having, and yet it was there all along.0 -
Ok I am still getting my head around this.
What Sainsburys smart voucher will I get back if I bought 6 boxs of Felix gravy. They are almost the same price in Tesco but cheaper in Asda
Sainsburys - £20.88
Tesco - £20.94
Asda - £16

Will I get £4.94 (Sainsburys minus Asda)
Or will I get Sainsburys minus (asda+ tesco divided by 2) = £2.41
(I bought these on Sunday from Tesco, 6 cats food, newspaper, 2 bottle of pepsi which I knew price matched, value custard and value rice (to get the total up to about £24 to use a JTD and a total spend and I got a £4.96 JTD voucher as value rice is slightly cheaper)
So buying the cat food at Tesco I would get 40 clubcard points worth between 80p and £1.20, depending plus the £4.94 JTD
Buying in Sainsburys I should in theory also get a price match voucher for £4.94 but is this so????“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. Every day will allow you, --will invite you to add something to the pleasure of others, --or to diminish something of their pains.”0 -

I don't know where you got that idea from! It's simply:
Cost of entire transaction in sainsbury's - cost of entire transaction in the cheapest of the other two. Identical branded items only, of course.
So in your example you'd get £4.94 because they'll compare it to ASDA. The downside is, if you bought something else too that was cheaper in sainbury's then those would negate the savings0 -

My mother always said I had a very vivid imagination
