looks like it is memory clock settings that is responsible for low score. adjusted memory clock settings to 600 mhz and now have a 3.2 and 5.6 wei. don't know whether to push it any further or if wei is important

Won't effect the score, but have you disabled the on board gfx?

You essentially purchased a card that's almost similar to what you already. Both are 512mb so it's not going to make any difference.

I purchased a 2GB graphics card on amazon for £32.00. My machine now flies.

do i need to do that in the bios? at the moment can't see any benefit to this card and unless convinced otherwise will uninstall and revert back to integrated graphics

In this chart your onboard is 165 and the card is ~300. this is a small difference if gaming but otherwise of no benefit.

Your motherboard will select the card unless told not to.

^^^ may be a stupid question, but you did plug the monitor into the Gfx card output, instead of the mobo output, didn't you ??? This is about the only situation I've seen where the addition of a gfx card made anything worse......either that or maybe there's a mobo fault around your card slots....

yes, connected to card. don't know how much weight the wei carries but was shocked to see such a drop in the graphics performance score. i could probably get a better score by fully overclocking but the system was becoming less stable with at least one crash today. that was the final straw. don't know if the mobo has a fault but would say if anything it is more likely that the card has a fault
