theres some buyers that only leave neutrals.. i dont really sell on ebay anymore but as a buyer i always leave positive and 5 stars accross the board unless the seller has really pee'd me off.
i did leave one negative before but didnt touch the stars.. as a seller wasnt answering my emails after 4 weeks of not recieveing something. they soon emailed back after they got a neg. I did change it to positve will a comment "only seems to email back after negging them". Since then i tend to look for the collection items

Not any more- that is an easy way of getting a malicious buyer suspended.

You say yourself that you don't sell on ebay any more, but actually you might want to reconsider as things do seem to be settling in a little now. Some sellers have even reported low stars being removed as malicious automatically by ebay, and many sellers, myself included, have had malicious feedback removed with no problem at all.

Puerpetuating the myth that there are buyers who 'always' leave a neutral is a bit scaremongering, yes there are some buyers who leave more than average or who seem to have a very bad buying experience- but they are quite rare.

  • I knew it was too soon to get excited about the possibility of getting TRS at next evaluation :(

Have had a neutral overnight saying item was damaged and packaging poor. Bit surprised as item was boxed and it isn't delicate at all, however no reason to doubt buyer so probably is. Item was sent by courier so entirely possible they damaged in transit.

I have emailed the buyer to ask what happened and apologised. I deleted my first email asking them why they didn't contact me first (!) and sent a very nice one, just wish they had contacted me. I have very nice t&cs, message in item etc, but no just the feedback. I bet my DSRs are bad too :(

I don't want to annoy buyer more, but thinking of offering partial refund if they send pic of item, does that sound reasonable? Or if it's completely ruined I'll refund in full of course.

Any suggestions welcome, has anyone had any luck calling buyers in this situation? Don't want to go overboard but I'm upset.
I don't think a neutral will effect any of your sales at all though! If you are that bothered about it how about asking seller to remove feedback? I mean if it was that damaged surely they would want a refund? And since they haven't asked for one, they must be quite happy with the item?

  • I had a neutral recently because I had mistakenly put the wrong size of the item on my listing.
I had sent an email on dispatch (before I realized the mistake) saying if there were any probs, get in touch.
But the buyer left me neutral (eplaining why) without getting in touch.
So I sent them a message:

They said actually the size was ok for them, and thanked me for the offer of a refund, but they would keep it & alter their feedback.

    Worth a go :)

Why on earth would a buyer leave someone a neutral saying the seller had put the wrong size when it was ok for them anyway? Surely if they felt the need to say anything at all an email would have done?
