Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Friday 14th October. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Morning all,
Seems much cooler here today, OH said its very cold in the garden, I have not ventured out yet.
Work today, then this afternoon I have to go and collect a mirror from arg*s, I will collect dd from college at the same time as its in the same town.
Dinner tonight will be meatballs and pasta, nice and easy, I also have 9 items ending on Ebay tonight, atm I have bids on all but one :T, will hopefully raise a bit as dd's computer died the other day, and we need to get her a new one for her college work.
More washing to do tonight, and a quick swish round should do it.
Marie nice to see you posting, enjoy your visitors.
Bargain Bird how is it going ? xx
Have good days all xx

Morning all, before and after!
It's been a few days since I posted - life and moneysaving went a bit pear-shaped, I'm afraid! Back to normal today though
It's pension day for me which means I shift money around and make sure I've enough money for the month ahead. I do but I've had to move some cash out of my ISA. I tried a different way of tracking discretionary spending last month and it hasn't really worked for me so I overspent and drawing on savings is the consequence. Am going back to my usual way of doing things this month.
DW is on and porridge is cooking this morning. It's still pitch-dark outside and the cats are agitating to get out to the toilet. They have litter trays but prefer to go outside. Need to go to the library today and also run into town to get to a big pharmacy. And it's meant to be car day - need to get it cleaned out so it can visit the garage for an MOT.
Hope everyone else has a good dayHousehold: Laura + William-cat

Morning everyone,
It must be a lot colder here this morning as the heating has come on and I have set the thermostat to 15 degrees. The children were amazed that the house felt warm when they got up!
Work today them hopefully a quiet evening. DD1 is out at her friends house this evening decorating a birthday cake and then a friend is dropping off her husbands birthday cake for DD1 to decorate tomorrow- she is actually going to get paid for this one!
Hugs to all that need them, especially Bargainbird, Lou and the Jackies.
Better go and peg out the washing.
Have a lovely day everyone.:)0 -
Morning folks - hope you are all well. I am exhausted this week, its the first full week I have worked since the middle of August, and I am soooo glad its Friday :-)
Not much happening other than the sock and scarf knitting. Really towing with the idea to visit the new Hobby craft shop that has opened nearby - but I know I dont need anything as I have so much stuff to use up - will have to ponder longer!
Its fairly mild here again, at the moment its 12 degrees outside, so the heating is off again. Washing machine is on, dishwasher on and the ironing board is sitting out - will try and get a couple things done before I go too work today.
Tea this evening will be cottage pie
Have a good Friday and (((hugs))) to anyone i need.

Morning everyone
Light cloud covering here this morning, cooler but still not cold for this time of year. DH up and gone into work, he says he feels much better, so hopefully his bug is on the way out. Have 1 load out on the line already and another in the WM. Will be endeavouring to get our bed stripped, washed, dried and re-made. Want to also get all the normal chores done and some cooking/baking done if possible, was completely useless yesterday apart from a bit of washing and prepping and cooking the dinner I didn't really do anything - I just can't get on with DH home! Dinner last night was pork chops, mash, veg and gravy. Tonight's it's HM fish pie for myself and DS1, breaded chicken pieces for DH and DS2.
Will be taking DS1 to get his blood taken, not looking forward to that just hope I've made him understand that he needs to have it done so we can find out what's going on - looks like he has some kind of food intolerance. Drs are thinking along the lines of possible wheat/gluten, but I'm more of the opinion that on the day's I'm working and they get in he's gorging on food from the tins/cupboards, if it's from the tins, it's my HM cakes, mince pies, maids of honour, choc brownies etc, the sort of stuff that's ok to eat a couple with a drink but not loads, then eating a cooked meal later and it's just too much or it could be IBS will have wait and see.
Have to go to the bank shortly, couple of jobs in town, food shopping, then home to try to catch up coz I was so lazy yesterday!! Have a great Friday everyone.
Have a great day everyone, hugs to those that need/want them, take care.

Good morning, everyone.
Nmlc - I hope your DS is not too anxious about the blood test, bless him. It's not much fun but necessary if he's not been feeling well.
Notjustlaura - good luck with the finances. It can be a real pain getting it right, can't it?
Well, it's a bit cooler here today, and there's a fine mist outside. The forecast is for 'mostly sunny' later, so we shall see how right they are! I hope so because I have a load of towels and teatowels to dry on the line. I haven't used the TD for ages now, and don't intend to if I can help it; I have a spare bedroom with a folding airer in it and, hopefully, the heating will dry the clothes through the winter. The only problem is when I have to do the changeover in the holiday home that I look after, which I have to do this weekend, so that's an extra five loads with all the bedding, towels, and bathmats to wash and dry. Still, the last visitors have been and gone, so there's no real hurry to get it all back on the beds.
Today, I'm going to clean through downstairs, prep the veggies for tonight's Thai stir-fry, make a few phone calls, and do a bit of online work.
Hope you all have a great day.

Good Morning All,
Another dull and damp day so wont be washing this morning.
DD and BF and called to pick up DGS last night and she took some of her belongings. They seem to be fine, fingers crossed.
Have just wrote a list for today including
Bank
Library
TK M@x (Christmas pressies)
Post Christmas present to Oz
ring EOn
Make DH a Doctors appt
Make a list for food shopping
Phew I am tired out just looking at it:eek:
Am worried about DH's tummy as it still looks slighlty swollen. He is not unwell, just aware of it. The doc treated it as an infection with a course of tablets but they have made no difference so he needs to go back and be referred for a camera. I think its a hernia and the doc suggested that as a possibility.
Really need to get the pressies out I have already bought and decide what I still need if you know what I mean.
Need to have a shower and wash my hair before anything else this morning.
Have a good day all Julie xStarted Self Managed DMP 10th May 2017.

Morning All
I was too busy to get on the computer until 11pm last night and that was just to check my emails before I went to bed.
I have a load of washing in and will get that on the line seeing as it is all set to go downhill next week.
DH is taking me over to Ikea today to get some more fleeces after I have been to the doctor - it feels like the blisters have burst (sorry if TMI) so hope that they will leave the dressings off now.
Fuming at the news about energy company profits ...Ofgem are a powerless piece of sh*t

morning all
havent been posting as os has been non existant. things as usual havent been great. hubby is now joining me on the AD's. the strain of putting up with me and his accident have got to himi dont seem to be getting any better. my support has been stepped up a bit more as i really haent been in a good place. still not really. this day last year i miscarried my baby. my head is all over the place from that. its a baby i shouldnt have lost but events that happened before that, i believe led to it
its something i need to let go but i'm still angry about it
anyway thought i would say hi. will disappear again before i bore you all to death. hugs to anyone who needs them x"I have learnt that even when I have pains, I don't have to be one""You may not control all the events that happen to you, but you can decide not to be reduced by them.”Maya Angelou0
