  • So by this we are thinking that on the next increase in rates they might not stay top of the table? This is the problem - they are top now but what will they be in a years time? Moving ISA's too often may cancel out any gain in interest you were trying to obtain.

Can anyone recommend this ISA with Ruffler Bank?

Where does it say whatever other bank you go with will offer prompt and full increases? 5.93? Can't go wrong. You can always move, and if others move up to a similar level, well, you're not actually losing out until they -exceed- that rate. Exceeding it by 0.25% is £40pa on £15k. In the meantime you're earning more...

    Banking code? Who cares.

last time I looked at Ruffler, I was put off as you had to get certified copies of documents, and I don't know anyone who can do this.
    Is this still the case?
How does everyone else get their documents certified, if they need to?
Indecision is the key to flexibility :)

i've been tempted by ruffler in the past and and it remains an attractive option.

could be just the place to put my £29k+ unless anyone knows of any better?

I send originals, though I've not sent anything valuable. I suppose Ruffler do not accept tax coding certificates?

do you have to get the signed by a professional who knows you like a doctor for example?

    that can cost money!!
  • I've just applied for this ISA last week. I am impressed with the service so far. I sent my application and cheque off on Wednesday by Special delivery because I sent my passport & a recent utility bill as proof of ID. They must have received it on Thursday morning. I got my confirmation letter saying that they'd opened my ISA on Friday. I also got my ID documents back in a separate envelope sent by Special Delivery on the Friday. A superquick turnaround. They also sent me an ISA transfer form.

All in all I'm impressed so far. As far as the transfer goes, that is now up to my current provider Alliance and Leicester. Something tells me I'll be waiting a while for them to transfer it to Ruffler!

I applied for the rufller ISA back in March.
My documents were returned by special delivery in less than 48 hours.
The money was transferred in about a week (although this does depend on your outgoing lender not just Ruffler).
My outgoing account was closed on 7th March and the new one opened on 9th March so I'm not sure whether I lose 1,2 or 3 days interest.
It's impossible to know how much interest will be lost as you can't tell whether it will be in the post over the weekend.
Avoid the Easter bank holiday weekend with 2 bank holidays.

I have found Ruffler to be very good so far.
