However when browsing it is sooooo !!! very slow, is it the AOL software ? has anyone else had the same problem ? ... if so how do i connect to AOL without using their software. any help ???

when you get the router, you can use any other browser you want as the router dials & maintains the internet connection0 -

Hi youll'never walk alone
I rang aol and told them i was thinking about Migrating to them, but did they have any incentives?. I was told yes no problem i could have their silver package which is 14.99 for 9.99 no contact, uncapped and one free month. It was simple as that. I'd actualy read on a moneysavers post that others had done this and also got a free router but he best i could get was get it for 25.00 quid. If you push they will also offer you free weekend phonecalls but you do have to push. Its also best if you speak to the irish call centre rather than the indian one.

Firstly get rid of the AOL software you dont need it at all, just put your login details and password into the router , your username should have @aol.com at the end of it.
Secondly you would have more than likely been put on a ADSL max package but capped at 2mb, it can take 10 days for this to settle in and get good speeds.
The Silver package has just been upgraded to 2mb from 1mb all acounts are being upgraded for free but if you have signed up recently it will happen straight away
The deal i got 5 months ago was, Silver £9.99 a month, free wireless router, first month free and 1 month contract.
You need to do this over the phone it may take a few phone calls to get the £9.99 offer tho0 -
Thanks deanos.0

I phoned AOL today 3 times asking for the deal, no chance, best offer is
£14.99 per month
2MB speed
1 month free
& £25 credit if recommended by a current user( both get this)
Anybody managed to get the OP deal as of today?
I would rather get it for £10 per month if poss.
Thanks

Hi Moneysaver
Are you migrating or joining AOL as a new customer ? i cant believe they wont offer you the same deal. They offered me the 9.99 deal straight away but After reading Deanos posts on another thread i became greedy lol and tried to get the free router. I ended up phoning about 10 ten time literally one after the other, they all said they could do the 9.99 deal with one free month and no contract, but no free router. In the end i managed to get the router for £25.00 and they offered me free evening and weekend calls, (i got this confirmed by email) they then said it was a mistake and they could only offer weekend calls free, i told them i have it here in writing so they couldnt dispute it. To cut this long story short i said forget the calls give me a freee router, they said they couldnt but offered me a £30.00 credit essentialy paying for my £25.00 router.
Hence one happy customer.
keep trying the deals are there, they want your custom.....0 -
Also if you want to use my name for reference and say you want a similar deal PM me no problem ill give you my email and details

I am migrating from Tesco 512k. I have phoned Tesco today to get my MAC code but they said it will take about 5 days to get it. So I will try AOL again when I have the code. BTW I thought AOL stopped the £9.99 deal on the 15th, maybe that's why I cannot get it.
Thanks
