Is this new?
I opened last years Halifax branded ISA at a BOS branch?0 -
Comparing the websites Halifax offer better products than the Bank of Scotland.
I wanted to open another vantage current account. I will probably swap to using BOS rather than Lloyds as that will mean having to use a single log in with the Rewards Current ac.

I'll save Winston Churchill, Jane Austen, J. M. W. Turner and Alan Turing.0 -

Jennifernil, are you on the inside of HBOS? Do you know if they plan to relaunch those BOS accounts that have been discontinued eg: once the sale of the Project Verdi has been completed. It seems like a rum do for a Bank called Bank of Scotland not to offer the best value accounts available elsewhere in the group outside Scotland. :eek:God save the King!

Nooooooooo!! I am just another disgruntled Scottish Halifax customer!
We have/had children's regular savers (6%) for our 2 grandchildren, the 2 my husband had have just matured, so we went to our regular branch to open a new one, only to be told that as they were now BOS, they could not open Halifax accounts.
They told us we could open the accounts on-line or by telephone or post, but the children's accounts have always been "branch only".
We complained, the complaint has been lodged on both Halifax (for disenfranchising Scottish children and/or their relatives) and BOS (for not having a comparable account) systems.......we were 90 minutes in the branch going through it all, so gained quite a lot of knowledge!!
Still waiting to hear back from them.
We also have Lloyds TSB accounts, so our next hassle will be when they sell us all of to goodness knows who.
And I do agree with you that what they are doing is most unfair!0 -
Opened one online through the internet banking.
The Halifax offer 2.6% however the BOS one that i got is 2.4%.
I still don't understand why you didn't get the Halifax 2.6% ISA?
You should just have requested Halifax to transfer your old ISA to their new one once your year at the higher rate was up.
I believe you can even request that on-line, certainly you used to be able to.
Or was your old ISA with some other bank?
Either way, you could have done the 2.6% one on-line.0 -

With the woman on the phone saying the paperwork needed signed in England, i assuemd that the Halifax one would not be allowed.
At least its only 0.2%.0 -
Well, you could always request an ISA transfer to the Halifax one.
If it was me, I would be complaining to them about the poor/wrong info you were given.0 -

I thought i could only open one new ISA a year?0 -
Can you open an "online only" Halifax ISA by phone?
Not sure you can - which wold explain why the call centre didn't mention it.0
