All I was saying was that I get annoyed when people don't read a listing properly then an odd one or two complain that it is not with them wihtin 2 days. People should not presume a delivery time they should actually read the listing proplerly.
Unfortunately, in my experience, its not just the odd one or two! There are many buyers that don't read everything and unfortunately if you sell on ebay you're better off accepting it or you'll go crazy getting worked up everytime it happens.
we are not in a position to go to the PO within 2 days always so we have that limit to cover our working hours.
Again, unfortunately if you can't offer quick dispatch you just have to put up with the idiots who don't check all the details.

If you aren't a business then does it matter about stars and ratings and even feedback? It's the businesses that want a good reputation, repeat custom, top rated seller status, etc..

Does it matter that their items are bottom of the search listings and they get less for their items, and get punished for doing exactly what they said in their auctions? But you have a point - star ratings should not result in private sellers being punished - just businesses.

A few years ago, up to 10 days was more than acceptable for an item to arrive and everyone enjoyed Ebay.

Its only gone daft since Ebay was invaded by Tesco, argos etc, and 3 days arrival started.

To expect someone selling an item for 50p to go 15 miles to a post office on a special trip - rather than wait until a few items have sold is nuts.

I've said it before and i will say it again - impatient people should stick to the shops or learn to read. The dispatch time even comes up on checkout. And blaming sellers for royal mail is out of order too.

I post within 24 hours - so this does not apply to me - just sticking up for peoples rights to state their own dispatch time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Otherwise Ebay should remove the 30 day option and have a 1 day option only - as many on here seem to think that should be the dispatch time.

You and I and most of the others here know that but unfortunately the impatient/stupid/illiterate/malicious/insane (delete as appropriate) buyers that make up a certain percentage of ebay buyers don't have the same thought pattern!!

I always update the statuson ebay & try to send a message to the seller as soon as the item has been dispatched to assure them that I have been prompt in sending it out.

Hopefully that way, even if RM are slow, the buyer will bear in mind that it was sent out quickly.

The advent of speedier deliveries is more to do with consumer demand off Ebay than anything on it. When Ebay started the big changes (sellers not leaving negs, then DSRs) they were as a result of falling customers and asking what they wanted to come back/stay, getting the goods as quick as possible would have been high on that list. I'm sure Tesco, Argos and the like would be just as happy taking their time with deliveries too, if I remember rightly there were a couple of big companies who stopped selling on Ebay when they realised that they couldn't match the customer demand for delivery.

I give up. Another low star rating on despatch.

I physically cannot post items any quicker than I do unless I can master the art of time travel and go back to a point before they paid.

Normal Items - Despatched the same day if purchased before 3 and in 99% of cases before 4pm. Personalised goods go out the next working day.
I hate this star rating, why should I be marked down because of Royal Mail.
