Indeed! Which is why I'd not live near either of those

I suppose train lines are pretty much the same as roads it depends on how busy they are.
The firsts house I bough was next to a Railway, the line was not that busy and it didn’t bother me at all so much so that the house I now live in is next to a similar line.0 -
I just wanted to add I'm in the "right next to a train line and hardly even notice them" group. Although I'm right beside a station so they tend to be travelling quite slowly when they're around. You're spelling is effecting me so much. Im trying not to be phased by it but your all making me loose my mind on mass!! My head is loosing it's hair. I'm going to take myself off the electoral role like I should of done ages ago and move to the Caribean. I already brought my plane ticket, all be it a refundable 1.0

There is a trainline along the bottom of my garden, I've been living there since May & now I don't notice the trains at all. Its actually quite nice when I'm all warm inside my flat & I see people travelling around outside, strangely comforting!0

Also, if the railway is at the bottom of your garden, you're unlikely to have anyone build houses there."If you think it's expensive to hire a professional to do the job, wait until you hire an amateur." -- Red Adair0

The train line is unlikely to be for sale.0 -

The post I'd replied to specifically mentioned 'main roads'. Definitely wouldn't live on one. Fairly hard not to live on a 'road' of some sort! Mine's very quiet and my cats do occasionally venture out the front, but I'm happier when they're in the back garden.
Wouldn't really mind how busy a train line was - I wouldn't live by one, full stop. You never know when that line might be used for all night freight trains, or a high speed rail link sharing it or something.

"Train line"? Have people become so detached from their own language that they have to make up a new word because they don't know the word which already exists?Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0

There is a website called "The Train Line" - its not like anyone is confused by what this represents.0 -
Don't see how 'train line' is a new made-up word, any more than 'rail way' is....0
