There are at least 5 other similar houses for sale on this estate, one has been on sale for over 3 years.

My house is nothing special compared to the others....

Are you doing your own viewings? If so, and this is your attitude, then that may be rubbing off on your viewers. You need to sell yours and emphasise anything positive that it has in comparison to the others.

Yes, every property ends up in the property centre.

There's nobody local to you operating outwith your local SPC...? Absolutely nobody?

Oh I praise the house up all I can, I even gave it a lick of paint inside and outside before it went on the market. I even painted the shed and fence in May, pity no one has seen it.

And as for the bedding plants, some of my neighbours thought I was entering the bonny garden competition.

I think with it being a band E council tax house that doesn't help either. £1900 a year

    Like who?

Your Move, RE/MAX, Slater Hogg, Smiths Gore, CKD Galbraith, Clyde Property, Countrywide etc etc

and also High-end agents like Rettie, Savills, Knight Frank, Strutt & Parker, none of whom are in the SPCs

Which SPC is closest to you?

Do any of these names look familar? Have you seen any of their offices, or their sale boards around your way?

I don't believe it (Victor Meldrew voice)

My sister used to live in a council house, as did I, but not the same one, she moved in there when she got married.

Her and her hubby bought the house under the right to buy scheme.

I bought this house when it was first built and she was slightly jealous that I no longer lived in an ex council house, so she sold her house and bought a house the same as mine just up the road.

Her and I live in a highly desirable area (according to the estate agents) and the houses are valued in the £155,000 to £180,000 depending on the size of the bedrooms and whether they have a garage, detached etc.

Her ex council house, in a council estate, which is slightly run down and was built just after the war, has just been put on the market for offers over £177,000.

She paid approx £10,000 for it (she got a large discount) in the 80's

    I give up.

    I'm staying where I am.

Now to prise the deeds to the house out of the solicitor.

worry about what your house is priced up at rather than other peoples houses
just because a house is valued at a price dont be fooled you will sell it at that price

So... none of the EAs I mentioned operate in your area? Or even if they do, you've never heard of them?

The only one in my area is Your Move.

No, never heard of them except Your Move.
