Cut bills advice

Hi
I am sick of Virgin charging me so much for the services they provide. I want to cut my bills drastically.
Does anyone just use the phone and internet as opposed to phone, internet and tv?
Thinking I could just use the iplayer, 4OD and youtube movies etc.
Thanks,
Clinton

To be fair, with today's society you could probably just get away with the internet.
That is of course you have a mobile with free mins allowance. Of course you can skype people (I have that on my iphone as well as my imac).
Watch stuff on iplayer/seesaw/4od/5 on demand etc, rentals/buy things from itunes:exclamatiTo the internet.. I need to complain about something!0 -
We only have a Virgin phone and internet service. We sacked their TV over a year ago and went to freesat. They will play hard to get you to stay on a full package, simply resist and get a quote for phone and internet only.0

Good suggestions. Will give Virgin a call and not let them twist my arm. Think there might be a limit to download speed in our area so may have to settle with 10MB. Will double check.0

We are on the 10meg service and it is more than adequate for streaming the high quality picture from iplayer.0

Do you need the subscription channels? Both Freeview and Freesat provide free TV, as the name would imply. No free lunch, and no free laptop
