I work on the clothing dept at Tesco and can confirm it goes live on the tills at 2am Friday morning, but in our store the stock wont go out until 8am when the first (greedy, grabbing, minimum wage earner) goes into work. To be honest I dont know why I bother.

    Thanks for the info!:)

One of my local stores did this about a month ago and had all the clothes outside on rails. People were queing with trolleys full and had been there 2 hours waiting to pay when I got there around 2pm. Luckily I knew someone in the queue and managed to give her couple items I found as best had gone and it was another hour before she finally paid. My store must have done it particularly early, maybe they will again.

If you were to go by the amount of staff at the tills in O!d Sw@n, Liverpool paying for mountains of clothing, there wont be anything left for the public :(

This is my local and that doesnt surprise me! Last time the clothing sale was starting i saw bundles and bundles of clothes stored behind the cs desk for various staff who were coming over and buying them on their breaks (whilst i was stood for nearly 30 mins waiting for my direct order !!!)

Used to work in Old Swan myself and some the staff there are shocking i must admit.....i use self service as much as i can in there as find alot of the staff are just plain rude and wouldnt know good customer service if it slapped them in the face and id rather not deal with them... Despite me being against self service till as they do till operators out of jobs!

    [/ climbs off her soapbox]

My local as well and I couldn't agree more, trying to use coupons there is a nightmare, they change the rules to suit themselves. Rarely any bargains and I suspect that because the staff nab them first.

Just got out of beaumont leys where as I was going up they were railing some women clothes down. I just did a 360 turn & followed. The woman kept looking at me wierdly but all I thought was £1 I don't care! So got some adult female tops, original prices range from 15-10. Then did my usual shopping , by the time I left which is now, they'd railed men stuffs down as well. I actually wanted baby clothes for my niece but couldn't wait as I have lectures now. Will probably go again tomorrow to have a look . My guess is they're bringing them out as they sort through them.
  • My friend is a manager of a large tesco extra store and he has been told that this event goes live on Friday. They have loads of stock to get rid of but he thought it was mainly summer 2010 things. Will have to wait and see.

  • I've just got back from my local Tesco Extra, There was LOADS of £1 items!! And they kept bringing trolleys of new clothes out. It was mad! I got some high heels, a handbag, a baby girls top, 2 cardigans, a jumper and got my fella 2 shirt sets with ties. Very happy!! :) There was hundreds left there to buy, but some people were stacking there trolleys high. One lady grabbed about 20 pairs of the same shoes to sell on eBay or at carboots no doubt! Hope everyone else manages to find a bargain!!
