  • I went down to investigate at my local as when I phoned they knew nothing (I'm in Scotland) I was needing vests for my daughter anyway so picked up a pack that were £2 along with a couple of other bits and the vests scanned at £1. Curiouser and curiouser. Will be going back tomorrow to see if they are reducing anything.
  • I've just spoken to the ladies in the clothing department in Sl0ugh who say that they will be moving stuff this afternoon but it definately doesn't start until tomorrow and it will be all the clothes that already have reductions. . .

Thank you very much for the update, I rang their customer services this morning and they said they knew nothing about it. Did they say if any new stock was being brought in from warehouse? Had a look at the reduced kids stuff the other day but didn't see much.

I disagree. If you are working in tesco you are probably working for round about minumum wage. I'm sure most of the workers have families too, and like getting a bargain as much as the rest of us.

Lets face it, very few of us actually really NEED more clothes. We just want them!

I,m sure that there are lots of people working on the minimum wage in retail outlets so I don't think that's a good reason for Tesco staff to circumvent the higher management intentions especially when, as far as I'm aware, any member of Tesco staff found to be abusing sales policy might lose their minimum wage job.
    Awaiting a new sig

I hadn't read this thread before popping into Huntingd0n Tesco. It wasn't the staff there reserving the clothes, it was one of the staff's daughter! I was having a nosey around and noticed a non-uniformed woman going into the staff area and overheard her say 'Oh Mum, I like that...and that.....and that...and I need size 6 pumps....can't belive they are all £1' At the time I wondered what whe was talking about, now it all becomes clear, and darn it, I am working tomorrow!

If you were to go by the amount of staff at the tills in O!d Sw@n, Liverpool paying for mountains of clothing, there wont be anything left for the public :(

This is my local and that doesnt surprise me! Last time the clothing sale was starting i saw bundles and bundles of clothes stored behind the cs desk for various staff who were coming over and buying them on their breaks (whilst i was stood for nearly 30 mins waiting for my direct order !!!)

Used to work in Old Swan myself and some the staff there are shocking i must admit.....i use self service as much as i can in there as find alot of the staff are just plain rude and wouldnt know good customer service if it slapped them in the face and id rather not deal with them... Despite me being against self service till as they do till operators out of jobs!

  • Just been to my local Ts and had a quiet word with an SA in clothing
She confirmed that they are currently putting it on rails out back and a lot is at £1
She said they probably won't wheel the rails out until around 8am tomorrow

They really couldn't even organise a **** up in a brewery.

Half the branches know nothing about it and the other half have started too early!

Isn't that so just typically TESCO ... bless em!
  • I work on the clothing dept at Tesco and can confirm it goes live on the tills at 2am Friday morning, but in our store the stock wont go out until 8am when the first (greedy, grabbing, minimum wage earner) goes into work. To be honest I dont know why I bother.
