Please help - DWP number needed!

this may be a long shot but was wondering if anyone can help

I used to work for the DWP and a prospective employer is trying to contact them for a reference as i am currently being made redundant.
Does anyone have any contact numbers for their employee services at Tyne head park in newcastle - I have tried everywhere and cant find one!

Thank you!

    Its tyneview park.

When I worked their the main switchboard was via the Longbenton office - 0191 213 5000 IIRC

I have a direct number at work which I can get tomorrow if you can wait.
I no longer work in Council Tax Recovery but instead work as a specialist Council Tax paralegal assisting landlords and Council Tax payers with council tax disputes and valuation tribunals. My views are my own reading of the law and you should always check with the local authority in question.

You need to lose the 0 from the middle bit as per the previous post.

  • Hi all,
I am in the same position, am trying to call from Australia but getting that the number does not exsist. I am using the international dialling code.
Does anyone know of any emails that may work?
    Thank you.
  • Hi.

Not sure if this is still needed but there is an email address you can use.
    nat.srs@dwp.gsi.gov.uk.

You will also need to give you old DWP staff number and your date of birth for security purposes.

If you are ringing select option 3. (the phone number is in the replies above).

    Good luck.

The chances of it being needed 18 months after being requested by somebody who hasn't logged on for nearly a year, and almost three years after the number was first given, are pretty slim I would have thought.

    Hello all,

It would seem that this post still has several hits (visits) a week and remains one of the top search results when the words 'DWP Shared Services' is typed into Google. Thank you all who have made my life that bit easier ;)

I just want to confirm that, as of today (04/11/2014) the details provided in previous posts are still correct.

    Address:
    Employee Shared Services
    Sheffield Employee Service Centre
    Kings Court Building
    80 Hanover Way
    Sheffield
    S3 7UF

    Tel: 0845 600 1405
    Email: nat.srs@dwp.gsi.gov.uk

All reference requests MUST be sent via email.

However, you MUST provide either Verbal consent (over the phone) or written consent via post for them to provide any information for reference purposes. Written consent via email will NOT be accepted.

Please note that consenting to one reference request expires after only 2 weeks from the date it is received. However, you may wish to provide 'general consent' so that ALL requests received within a 6 month period will be responded to and your basic information will be provided.

Proof - I am an ex-DWP employee (only a Financial Assessor)

You may also wish to see an email from DWP, dated 29/10/2014:

    Good morning,

I have received an email from you giving us written verbal consent. Unfortunately we are unable to accept written verbal consent in the form of an email.

If you could please call our contact centre on 0845 600 1405 and give your verbal consent. I have looked into your file and seen you have previously called and given consent for a previous reference.

If you let the officer in the contact centre know you wish to give consent for all reference requests this will be saved in your file for six months and will save you time with any future references that may be requested.
