  • A frined of mine thought she wanted to work in HR, but was not sure if she wanted to do that long term, ended up temping (yes filing!) for an HR dept of an international bank. Was hired after a couple of months as an HR administrator. After a year, they sponsored her to do an HR masters at the LSE.

With the greatest respect, the average HR administrator at an international bank betrays the fact that they are only really qualified to do filing.

  • The development for the BBC move started in the middle (2007) of this year and is located very close to the Lowry Centre in Salford Quays. Here is a current photographic timeline to be completed 2010/11 :

hmm~She had a Bsc and had a year work placement as part of her degree. The admin job had a starting salary of £23k, not to be sneezed at.

Our dept (& HR) prefer to take people on with with qualifications and some experience. The problem is when people have qualifications out the door, but no experience of any kind in the industry. Better to have done filing and been competent at it and gained a level of knowledge, than be full of hot air because you don't want to take a chance
