Don't know if ours is closing down. New Superdrug JUST opened, big one too, plus another one in the shopping centre across the road from Savers.

Now it could be shutting anyway?
Wilkinson sell alot of the simple range, so could be worth checking there, the soap always seems to be bogof which is good0 -
No sign of it closing in Chelmsford, a little bit away from superdrug, but they have a boots nearby and a boots nearish the superdrug, so far enough away to make having two superdrugs viable I am guessing. I'll keep a look out0

Plus the hassle they've had about the lorries coming/going from their site. Typical these days that a housing complex is allowed to be built next to an industrial estate and the companies get moaned at!
Found that a lot of the stuff is cheaper in Wilkinsons now, bought a metre length of waterproof plaster in Savers last week for 99p then found it was only 69p in Wilko.
Congratulations to julieblake - sounds like you got some great bargains!
PS. Nice to know there are some fellow MSE posters in Darlington!
