it may appear that it goes back into the house, but i doubt it very much.

    Here are the pics.

It looks like a pressure relief outlet

if you look from a distance it seems the bottom pipe re-enters the property but in fact there is a couple of millimeters gap between the bottom pipe and wall

glad i looked at this thread cos we have one of rhose bent pipes on side of our house and wasn't sure what it was for. . . . . problem solved lol and i will be able to explain all to oh when he gets home.
we thought it was something dodgy cos everything else on this house we've bought seems to be . . . . with exception to the new heating system that was installed less than a year before we bought the house.

Thanks thats helped me too! Also anyone know how long the 22m tube coming from the boiler, for flow and return should be before reducing down to the rads, please? TIA.

in the average uk domestic house there should be no or very little 22mm pipework.
certainly not beyond the first rad.

Thanks, but this is from the boiler, it has a 22m connection from the actual boiler and needs to be connected to the flow and return, so needs to be reduced, JUST after the boiler, say a foot or so! It is the connection that goes into the boiler. If that makes sense!

from memory, my vaillant combi has 22mm tails for about 6 inches and then reduces to 15mm.

    ps
if you are using plastic pipe, for the boiler feed water, the final 2ft must be in copper. 22mm?

What only 6" from the boiler? I thought it had to be longer?
