Laptop showing a blue screen and wont load windows - please help

  • We are doing the back up thing first (well trying now) as it suggested on sony vaio website. The laptop will be two years old end of dec so not that old really but think manufacture warranties only last a year don't they?

    restart the laptop press f8 boot into safe mode remove recently installed programs in control panel
    run antivirus reboot back into windows

    computers can be funny they dont allways do what you tell them...
    it sometimes takes a few goes untill they do as they are told
    i know this sounds wierd but its true.......

    i have got a list of bsod errors ( blue screen of death ) but its in the garage
    in my scott mueller book............

    These instructions with assist you in the repairing of your computer:

    Download and save this Windows 7 Recovery Disc Image to a working computer if Windows 7 32bit or this image if Windows 7 64bit.
    Next, download and install ImgBurn(No need to install the Google Toolbar. Remove the relevant tick). Burn the Image to Disc. Use this guide(skip step 2b)

    You can then use these instructions to assist you with an automatic Startup Repair or further to that, System Restore. Further to that we will have access to the Registry via Command Prompt in order to run chkdsk(important) and further to that a System File Check.

    Ahh good old Scott Mueller....reminds me of my college days :-)
