That is a last resort.

Then I'd need to reinstall my video camera programs.

It just seems strange that there is no fix other than restoring or a factory restore.

I have been searching on and off for a while but have never came across a fix. I thought my luck was in tonight but not to be.

You get insulted then the insultee goes in the huff because you answer back.

I've been in IT for 30 years and I have my own business and am Microsoft Certified. My expertise on this board is well known and I have nothing to prove.

I asked if it was a dodgy install because Windows 7 Ultimate is usually the version you find being shoved on computers punted on Ebay and MS have actively been targetting them, disabling certain functionality.
