OK, here goes. This week my meal plan will have to be really time saving (and money-saving coz I've got none
) So mostly what is already in the fridge or freezer.
Today, I'm batching soups this evening. Carrot & corriander and a batch of mushroom. Will have a bowl of one and freeze the rest for lunches on alternate days this week and next.
Mon: beef & parsnip stew, peas & mash
Tues: Sausages in the last of my giant Auntie Bessies Yorkshires, with chunky steamed carrots, peas and gravy
Wed: Plans not yet set for wednesday but either omlette or pasta & salad
Thurs: defrosted roast pork cooked with shallots, mushrooms and a chopped apple in a cider sauce with steamed potatoes brocolli & corn
Friday: Turkey stir fry and noodles
Saturday. Roast pork dinner from freezer.
Well that's the plan: What's the betting at least one of them gets substituted by beans on toast :rotfl:My first reply was witty and intellectual but I lost it so you got this one instead

I find it hard to stick to any plan as I change my mind half way through the week when I get given food or find something lurking in the bootom of the fridge so mine is approximate!
1. Today - Roast chicken and all the trimmings
2. Minestrone
3. Lamb stew
4. Brasied chicken
5. Tuna and vegetable rice bake
6. Dahl and curried veg with nan bread
7. Something made with Coley I found in the freezer. Anyone got any suggestions? Never cooked it before!NSD 0/150 -
Hi, all! Lots of inspiration to add to my recipe list. Had HM, HG parsnip soup for lunch with HM *seedy bread* and cheese.
Plan for the rest of the week:
Sunday - turkey pie, roast potatoes, sprouts
Monday - veggie shepherd's pie
Tuesday - beef curry (from the freezer)
Wednesday - roast veg and avocado wraps, salad
Thursday - spicy pork and rice
Friday - salmon from the fish market, with potatoes and veg from the farm shop
Saturday - veg soup
There are HM pizzas and pasties in the freezer for lunches. I'll bake a cake (not sure what - will be off to find inspiration) and finish the batches of *Queenie's cookies* that are in the freezer.

quite enjoyed doing this last week although some meals changed totally. think i am going to do an inventory of cupboards next to use stuff up. think we can basically make this weeks meals without buying anything - which is some feat as when i looked at freezer inventory i couldn't see any meals lol.
anyway
sun - leftover chilli with mexican rice (from discovery site) + tortilla chips
mon - leftover enchiladas with hm mexican potato wedges (from discovery site)
tues- lasagne (meat sauce from freezer) will make enough for 2 nights meals and have on thursday
wed - chicken tonight creamy mushroom sauce with pasta , chicken + veggies make extra sauce to freeze
thur - leftover lasagne
fri - reduced american hot pizza
sat - spag bol from freezer with garlic slices
lunches will be leftovers, sausage rolls + beans, fry up, hm soup, filled rolls
these might get swapped round depending or might get changed if we get any reduced bargains:love: married to the man of my dreams! 9-08-090 -

It's a bit like cod. Try searching this forum for *fish pie*. There've been several threads, recently, so take your pick.
For a simple fish pie, cook the fish gently in milk, with peppercorns, bayleaf. Then flake the fish into an ovenproof dish, make a white sauce from the milk, season and add parsley. Pour this over the fish. Top with plenty of mashed potato, dot with butter and cook in the oven or under the grill until hot, and the top is browned. Serve with veg.

5 a day portions of fruit and veg are easily accounted for even if it does not appear so from the list below.

Weds - Spag bol and salad
Thurs - Fish, peas and new potatoes
Friday - chicken and broccoli pie, home made wedges, carrot and swede mash
Saturday - Beef and Ale Casserole
