Pret a Manger

I just want to thank them for their lovely filter coffee at 99p (which I much prefer to Starbucks filter). Their "Crinkly Old Bag" mini-baguette with President buutter at 60p and their Bakewell tart at 99p are good value too. Also, they have a loyalty card for branches outside the M25 area.

NB
I don't have any connection with them other than as a paying customer!

I seem to recall them getting bad reviews for having one of the highest salt and fat levels in their food.

Quick google search and it was pret a manger, lots of articles similar to the one below. I don't know if they have made any improvements since though.

Pret etc are all rip-offs but if people have the money and like the food/drink why not.

Personally I baulk at paying ridiculous prices for coffee and a sandwich.

I know someone who spends about £20 on coffee a week from places like this. Whilst I don't go for the cheapest brands I normally get 2 jars for £6 and that lasts me about 3 months.

But as I say if people have the money or are willing to pay the prices good for them.

The 99p filter coffees are the biggest coffee bargain on the high street - I actively prefer them to the other coffee places, the price is reasonable, and you can even collect loyalty points on those coffee/stampy cards, and get 9 for 8 ;-)

I.E. usually make it taste very nice, but not in any way great for your health.

Ok I'll stop preaching in the thread now :rotfl::p

I know but it's so awkward trying to find a place where I can plug in my kettle when I'm out in town and fancy a coffee. And then there's the water bottle and the milk bottle and the sugar bag and the coffee jar and a mug and a spoon all to fit into my bag.

John Lewis have great customer service but even they said that I couldn't unplug one of their 50" plasma TVs so I could use the socket to boil my kettle. Spoilsports!

See post 1 - must be an echo in here ;)
  • Pret-a-Manger make great sandwiches on par with M&S. props to other MSE Fans on here. A little qaulity goes a long way when it comes down to moneysaving. Crap is awful and false economy.
