You will have to elaborate on exactly what is happening to get any useful response. Try scanning in safe mode (F8 at bootup), and read through the malware sticky thread at the top of the page.
Has a usb flash drive been installed on it recently?
You could try a system restoreEver get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0 -
you could use one of the online scanners (its free and does a great job)

or go for AVG, it finds (IMHO) more than Norton ever didI'm now a retired teacher... hooray ...:j

Do what albertross suggested.Scan in safe mode. You could always switch off system restore first.then switch it back on when you have finished scanning.
but i would try system restore first to see if that gets rid of the virus first.0 -
hiya all ,yes im back and thanks for all ur imput,it started on his laptop, and now its on my husbands, what happened was my husband put some stuff of his dads laptop on to a usb disk and put them on his own,and now it seems his is infected too,can start up in safe mode and run spyware and adaware, wont let me open up antivirus says its destroyed or been removed, lets me run adaware finds approx 30 critical objesct ,which i then delete, and then when start up in normal mode it stays running for 10 secs then starts rebooting ,over and over. please please help thats 2 laptops out of order now,           :eek:smile at everyone everyday and say hello0

Is there a message before the rebooting ? -
Is the rebooting only in non safe mode ?Rich people save then spend.
Poor people spend then save what's left.0 -
keep the usb stick away from your 3rd PC then.
Any indication of which virus it is?
Try putting these on a CD, and install on the PC/laptop in safe mode.

try all of the above.. for starters. make sure you update them after download, then kick off scans.
Which AV is installed, was installed.? What is detecting the dropper?Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0
