not hugely spacious but I love my punto, cheap on insurance, tax etc & it has enough room for a buggy & shopping etc. It's our 2nd car rather than the family car.0

If you want a bit spacious then I would suggest a ford focus, 1.4 perhaps. It has loads of room for what you need, its also a good car too.0

I guess Dianna you may need an Estate.Ford Escort,Sierra or Vauxhall Cavalier. How much do you want to spend?
You may want to go for a Ford Focus or what about the 7 seater Vauxhall Zafira?

I don't know where you are but I would suggest a visit to a local car supermarket. They tend to have most makes and you can then compare them for your personal needs. Saves going around lots of different dealers. Once you have decided on a car you can find the best price."The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves, but wiser people so full of doubts."

Your priority shouldnt be cost, it should be safety.
Ford Focus is my pick, the new one, as its 5 star Euro NCAP.
Get the 2.5 Turbo version, as its VERY FAST, muhahhaaa!0 -

Go for safety but get the 2.5 turbo cos it's fast????
It really depends what your budget is.This country is called Great Britain. It would be called Amazing Britain if it wasn't for people like you pulling the average down0 -
Id say your looking for a diesel, 5 door with some decent boot space so what about a vauxhall astra / ford focus / honda civicIf it doesnt pay rent sell it.
Mortgage - £2,000

I would go for a diesel as well, we went for a Toyota Yaris last year and absolutely love it. Toyota's are generally very reliable and this one is particularly economical: a full tank is £37 (42lts I think) and we make about 600 miles with that. The tax disc is only £50 (just renewed it). Insurance wise we just renewed it as well, and with quidco cashback taken into consideration we will be paying a grand total of £80!
The other good thing is that we got a year's free RAC cover with home start etc... (Never had to use it, but I suppose it's always useful).0 -
Definitely go for a diesel. I've got a Renault Megane which obviously won't be big enough for you but the fuel consumption is excellent. Get about 55 miles/gallon running round town and about 59/60 for longer runs. Also £50 for road tax.If I had known then what I know now . . .

I woulden't touch a peugeot with a bargepole - I got rid of a 206 last year with never-ending problems - it cost me a fortune in time and money - and I received terrible customer service from Peugeot.
I've got a ford fiesta now and am really pleased with it.0
