I am so so upset.
I had my phone plugged into my computer this evening and it was updating. I went and put the kids to bed then when i came back it had all frozen.
I un plugged my phone and it stuck with the do not disconnect picture and wouldn't do anything, not even turn off. I tried taking the battery out but the same screen came up when switching it on.
Plugged it back into the computer again and went googling, while i was looking a box flashed up in the corner of my computer screen saying something about device not recognised. unplugged the phone and now its got a white screen with HTC in green on it and won't do anything.
Is my phone dead? can I do anything?

You shouldn't have disconnected it, if it stated do not disconnect.
Try google and see if their is a manual reboot method for your phone, if not take it in store where hopefully they can reboot the firmware if it won't work with your PC.0 -
Hi, as a last resort try a 'hard' reset, but this will wipe all your info and return it to 'as new' status.
Go to HTC website ,select your model then to the help section and download the full user manual , I think page 75 is relevant, 'reset using phone buttons'.0 -

Yes, the firmware update process takes many minutes during which the phone is unresponsive. The subsequent reboot will also be longer than normal. It does sound like the handset was disconnected during an update and has been bricked.0 -
thanks for your replies, Yep the phone was 'bricked' - learn something new everyday.
Orange talked me through doing a factory reset today so I is thankfully working again, and luckily all my photos and music was saved to my computer anyway.:j
i can't believe that i can hardly live without my phone its so so sad!!0 -
Sounds like you were being updated to Mango - it can take up to an hour to complete this update - but it really is well worth it. Integrated Facebook etc. in your messaging etc. If you love your phone without the update - you'll love it even more with it! Take it from a fellow Mozart user0
