Which one to buy>wii/ps3/xbox 360??

I have all 3, my Xbox 360 is the only one that gets used. The Wii I bought for my girlfriend because she wanted Wii Fit, which she used for a month. I bought the PS3 because my old Xbox 360 broke and I wanted Metal Gear Solid 4 which is only on PS3. After I cleared that a week later I got a new Xbox 360. I have a subscription to Lovefilm and I only rent Blu-Ray films just so I can get some use out of the PS3.0

happy_gardener - with the age your kids are, and as this is your first console, I would go for the Wii.
The price has dropped a lot in the last 12 months - you can get them for under £100 now. Games are much more fun and family oriented, and cheaper than for the Xbox or PS3. You can get BBC iPlayer (very useful) and basic internet browsing.
As your kids get older, and if they get more into gaming, then look at one of the other consoles at that point.0
